Comanche Aficionado (4/11)

  1. Right side door handle in blue or just the backing plate. Mine shattered. :headpop:
  2. 1986 Comanche Custom Engine: 2.5 Transmission: 5 Speed Tranfercase: ? All I know its a 4X4 Axles: Stock, have no clue what they are. Wheelbase: Long bed Build Date: October 1985 Current Location, Reedley, California Status: Currently on the road and it is also my service truck for my business. Notes: When I bought it. It was just a stripped down Comanche with blue interior, Bench seat, no radio, idiot lite dash, push bar, step rear bumper, and no shell. Now it has bucket seats,Gage dash, stock radio with xm satellite, blue center console and commercial truck shell with L.E.D. clearance lites, 2X6 square tubing rear bumper with a 2inch reciever hitch, and tow hooks. Soon it will have A/C, and paint job. Current owner: Mike McCutchan :wavey:
  3. Change your plugs to factory, fuel filter, air filter, cap and rotor, gas cap. And also do an oil change.
  4. I will do that. thanks for the tip. What would the psi be?
  5. Thank you for the info. Or the lack of it. :wall:
  6. Where would I find my fuel pump?
  7. I replaced the fuel filter on my 1986 2.5 Comanche, when it felt like its starving for fuel. But it still acts the same. Under idle and on the gas, it lopes? What would be the cause of it. Thanks.
  8. 1990 Cherokee, I bought one of those r-112 to r-134a kits at the zone. On top of the air compressor, there is two inlets one high side and one low. there is two valves? They look like valves to let the freon into the low side. Do you open up both to let freon in when installing r-134a?
  9. My low speed on my 86 works some to not at all. High spped is ok. Is my motor going bad or :dunno:
  10. My 1986 Comanche has passed the 100,000 mile mark today at noon. sniff sniff, I am so proud. I know I know that everyone else has that and then some. But I bought my MJ in Sept. 08 with only 86,000 miles. :rotf:
  11. Socal1200r, I have a 1986 Mj with a bench seat and I converted it to Buckets. 1. Easiest way is to find a two door xj with buckets. (color might be a problem, I have tan buckets in my blue interior. Soon I will get them recovered) 2. Take out your bench seat, turn it over and using a drill, drill out the rivets on the bottom of the seat where your brackets mount. Do this also on the buckets as well. 3. Go to Fastenall or your local hardware store and but new bolts and lock nuts. 4. Reinstall your mj brackets on to your new buckets. 5. Install buckets. P.S. Are your in the navy? my nephew is in and at norfolk va.
  12. I recently changed my pcv valve and new rubber gasket from the dealer, because my old one was spraying oil all over the valve cover. Any way, my idle went up to 1100 rpm from 700 rpm. Is this Normal? I really don't know because when I got the truck it had a loose rubber gasket and PCV valve. Can you Help me? :dunce:
  13. Well my rear is saging because of the heavy shell on it so I would like to get it up higher.
  14. http://fresno.craigslist.org/pts/1382197684.html I don't have a lift but will they help or hinder?
