  1. I'm with BLHTAZ. I'd drain the pan, or at least see if anything is in it, pour in some fresh oil and then do as he suggested. I've used some engines, without having to tear them apart, that have sat around for a few years with no ill affects.
  2. I took lack of hardness of the spike into consideration. But I figure they will be really easy to pop out when they show wear. With the big head and having cut em a 1/4 inch longer a tap with a hammer & vise grips should make the next pull out easy. Used lots of never-seez also. I'll check on-em in a year or two. ;)
  3. Here's an easy fix for doors when the hinge holes become oval shaped & doors slop around. Do to the limited space to work with I just pulled my doors off, about 20 mins each door. I then hammered the old pins out & ran a 17/64 drill bit through all the holes. That returned them to a near circular condition. A 9/32 would have made them complete circular but I didn't have a pin/bolt that size on hand and neither did the hardware store. But, I discovered that their nail bin had 6 1/2" spikes with a .260" dia . They fit the bored out hinge just fine when cut to length. Cost 0.10cents. Door lines up with striker and closes with ease now.
  4. Having slept on it I've decided to pass on it. I just can't justify having to move it 140 miles and have it take up space in the back yard. If it had been a SWB I'd go for it and build a matching trailer for my MJ. If anyones interested in it just check craigslist for Salem OR # 721914148. They sent the photos when I contacted them.
  5. Lady wants to sell this for $350. Said it just recently quit running, reason unknown. I might drive up (140 miles) & ck it out. Its an 87 column shift AW4 w 2.5. Appears to be 2wd & LB. I don't need another, but, what the heck looks like lots of good salvageable parts on it. Never hurts to have extra MJ parts around. Image Not Found Image Not Found
  6. It's possible I might have to go to a 33. It only takes 10 minutes to change it out if needed.
  7. Finally, after procrastinating for a year, changed out the drive gear to see if my MPH will read correctly since I changed from 215 to 235-75's. When it read 25 I was doing 26.8 and at 65 I was actually doing about 7l. Will se if the change from a 35 to 34 tooth gear is gonna be close enuf. Will check it against the wifes caddy tomorrow on I-5 since were both going into town . If its within a mile of hers either way at 65 I'll be satisfied. Should help avoid getting speeding tickets I hope.
  8. It gonna take you & grandma, one of yuh on each side, to check out the seat release mechanisms to see if their working properly before you try moving anyrhing. When you move that lever on the drivers side its suppose to pull the wire going over to the pass side & release both locks simutaneously. If the wires missing, or stretched, then you gonna have to show gtrandma how to put some vise grips on the release latch & yank it into the open position & hold it while you put a 2X4 between the back of the door jam & back of the seat & pry it forward. You might have to do both sides that way a little at a time until the seat moves forward far enuf to come off the rails & can be lifted out. Then flip the seat upside down & lube the heck out of everything that moves. I'd put a new wire on also if the old one is all rusty. Slop a lil grease in the rails on the seat base also before you put it back in. Then you gotta jump in straddle the hump, no I,m not talking about granma here, hold the release lever open and slam the seat back & forth til it feels loose as a goose, or to your liking.
  9. there is a similarity, four legs and a tail. From there????????

    Stolen truck.

If I see a white MJ here in Oregon with Oakie plates I'll give someone a call.
  11. Looking at the photos I'd say you got the ideal housing arrangement for your unwanted guests. With wide open gaping holes under your buildings and decks you can dispose of the current occupants but more & other species will follow. Until you seal things up & eliminate easy food sources you lose the war. Feral cats are no better, and you can thank your neighbors for them, and should be eterminated along with the other pests. I had neighbors move out & leave 10 starving cats behind living under their house. Couldnd't get any animal activists to take care of the problem so some locals loaded up meat with ground-up decon and kept putting it to em until they kicked off. Of course they died under the house so plug the holes while the cats are out first. Hmmmm, skunks love eggs...................
  12. 500 they were talking about dimming dash lights, not the headlights, I think.
  13. That has been the method for controling dash light brightness and activating interior lights for eons, well maybe just since the 30's.
  14. Try radiatorbarn.com I think I seen one there. They give a number to call if you got any ??????????????
  15. THIS FORUM POSTING IS CLOSED from 12 PM tonight until 12:01 AM Jun 19th. Please no more posting. I'm gonna win. Didn't the previous 4-5 posting sound just like a politician.
  16. Here's one vote for that. I'm gonna knock on wood though cause I'm prone to do similiar things.
  17. By chance did your MAP line pop out of the side of the TB. Mine did & I experienced the exact symptons you pointed out originally. Plugged it back in & it went back to normal oper.
  18. Any chance the heater hoses were hooked up in reverse, wrong one to the control valve. Hot running directly to the core.??????????????? Weird s--- happens sum-times.

    "girl's Comanche"

Yeah the plum color & spray in pinkish bed liner & add upholstery to match.
  20. If you order part # 52417.04. In their Summer Edition catalog their selling them for $119.99. Tell them you want the catalog price.
  21. Well 3 out of the 12 above actually replyed to Chrysler. All the x2, x3, etc., are piss-un in the wind cause chrysler probally doesn't analyze the responses within this forum. A couple days ago before this came up I got into it with them over responding to VIN # & build sheet info after they gave me a lame response about they couldn't provide specific info on a vehicle for security reasons. Basicaly I said (along these lines) that was a croc o s--- as there is and was no rationale to thinking security is involved with a 20 yr old Jeep. , & one reason their lousy customer service & treatment of customers, as well as having piss pour design insight has led to their being on the tail end of US sales. I guess I was just a piss-un in the wind also.
  22. Well I,m gonna guess June 19th . If it starts to look like the count might go beyond that I'll bring up subjects like TPS and towing, they always seem to get a lot of response.
  23. Just did a 875 mile trip in the MJ. By holding it a 65 & under I avg about 20.6 mpg. Wife's cadilac with V6 gets about 15/25. So if I see anything really cheap that tops 25/35 I might pick it up as a DD. Otherwise I'm gonna chg driving habits & call my insur co & see if I can get cheaper ins rates for driving less. Chances of that like Snowball in h---.
  24. Looks like a solid rig. If it's still got floors in it I'd buy it. If it was a Wisconsin truck I wouldn't touch it unless it had a big free sign on it cause they have a tendency to disappear when pressure washed.
  25. My dau Corvair. I thought she had it painted, but not yet. Image Not Found[/img] Yhis engine going in blue Corvair. Image Not Found [/img]Image Not Found
