  1. did you grease the U joints? they have little zerk fittings on em. fill em up and see what you get. clunk goes away... time for new U joints.
  2. no not likely the rings, i agree. I just think the rear main is hard as a rock and so its starting to leak. at 186k.... id expect that as normal. It didnt leak till this last long road trip. Where i ran it loaded as hell for 9 hours straight. Seems it didnt like that. But it doesnt use a drop of oil and the airbox is bone dry. So i just think its the RMS. :) Which i will be changing very soon.
  3. So would a 91 have this also? cause my rear main is seepin and if i have this issue and crank case pressure is up... may be my cause. This thing is UNDER the valve cover? under one of the in/outlets? anyone have a pic of where this part is on the VC? I love this type of stuff. Thanks guys.
  4. if you think you have excess blowby, build the setup and do a crankcase pressure test. I don't know what the standard spec is but I'm sure you could find whats normal for most engines, by googling it and studying. :)
  5. thats dope dude. :)
  6. Feel like its the front or rear that are locking up? If its rear may have shoes wet with brake fluid. Check for failed wheel cyls. But usually you will only have one wheel doing it. if it feels like all of em, could be something entirely different. Like what shelby and eagle mentioned.
  7. this actually made me lol. :D
  8. this thread.. :clapping:
  9. lol! those are dope. Ill snag one if you get em made. hahahah
  10. Yep.... thats why this site rocks. Lots of good info to digest. I'm a newb to lifting comanches too... so i learn by every post i read or make. :) I want mine to be epic so I'm not doing it big till i have revised my notes/outline at least 10 times. I learn more each week. Thanks to those who have chimed in here with real world experience. It helps those of us who are headed the direction youve already gone. ;)
  11. Makes more sense why you were seeing such a huge price. The 6 inch OME lift is less than 600 bucks. Ive read and heard nothing but great stuff about the products... just a bit of negative about the people running the show. So take that as you may. Funny all the diff opinions you will get. You need to weed through and see what sounds best. Like when shelby said get the spacers and 4.5 springs. That is good info right there. So when you look you can see why the OME would be a bad @$$ kit if you can't weld. For MJ you get the SOA kit with the cool perch system for the rear. That would work well for most people who don't want to set pinion angle and have no welder to do the SOA themselves. This is what I'm talking about. http://www.rocky-road.com/comanche.html can't really go wrong with that, at that price. You get all the stuff you need to do it right. of course its not done 100%... are they ever? The ACOS setup is bad @$$ too, if you want to level your front perfect. I'm with you on KM2's thats all i will run. At 206 a tire... thats cheap in my book. But ive bought race car stuff my whole life. So 5-700 for 2 tires is a reality for me. I'm happy that I'm gonna be in under 900 mtd and balanced for my KM2s.
  12. Interesting to see it called canopy. Been callin it "bed cap" or "camper shell" since i was a little kid. :) I'm sure some nice ones exist out there, just have to do some deep recon. Ok so youll have to hunt your area a bit cause i know your not in the USA, but ARE makes 2 versions... http://www.4are.com/product/cal/
  13. So you're lifting an XJ then?
  14. NICE! so now that helps my brain. if mine keeps it up after rear main and clean CPS, I'm gonna clean my throttle body and then maybe ill need a TPS too. We shall see... :wrench:
  15. where did you get 1500? i don't see anything on OME thats 1500 bucks. They are the cheapest and supposedly the best. Like... 600 bucks cheap. Of course like most vendors these days ive heard mixed signals about.. pretty much all of of them. But great reviews on OME front springs. i for sure will be doing mostly OME parts and then SOA on my truck. We shall see. definitely please show where 1500 is at. So we can see what your seeing.
  16. Possible CPS going out. See what fault codes you have. I have damn near this same idle on my 91, and there are times i go to take off and it just loses all spark for a millisecond then kicks back in. SO short a duration. My rear main is going and i think there is oil all over everything in the bell housing. Didnt do it when i got it, now that rear main is pissin... its doing it a lot. I'm gonna be doing rear main soon and cleaning everything real good. Ill then report if my hunty idle and skipping running goes away. cool you posted this cause makes me feel better. Mine is doing EXACT same thing. that idle with pieces missing... lol.
  17. Thats a common failure point. The upper radiator hose comes directly from the head in most cooling systems. So it sees the highest temp coolant. That spot flexes over and over with expansion as someone else said... sooner or later the plastic fails. Right when you shut it off... the temp spikes in the upper radiator hose as there is no more flow and the head is the hottest piece. So thats not something to lose sleep over. new rad will fix it. :)
  18. a new one on rockauto is 12 bucks....lol. If its old... just put a new one in. Bet you can get one at your local parts house for less than 20. :)
  19. Plus it takes fewer cycles in New England since everything rusts there, including plastic. :D :rotfl2:
  20. id have snapped. I hate cigarettes with every molecule in my body. And my MJ is a one owner truck and the original owner hates smoking as much as i do. So its untainted inside. Smells like nice aged jeepyness. I'm glad i don't work with the public. Working for myself has been the greatest gift i have ever given myself. I did deal with stuff like this when i worked at dealerships but its been a long time. This thread reminded me of it. To the OP.... LOVE your sig.
  21. pour in a bottle of lucas oil stabilizer and report back to us. ;) of course drain out 1qt first.
  22. Is there a thread on that JP mj? what is JP? id like to check it out. Seems comanche info is VERY hard to find. Even with this site existing. Nothing seems organized anywhere. i can't find a good picture folder anywhere. google images is spotty, between the car being called... MJ, comanche, jeep, jeep pickup... the results are insane. Yet i can find 450000000000 cherokee pics lifted and modded in every fashion to ogle at all day long and get ideas for the look i want. lol. Id like to have a pic folder on here, for people to stare at (maybe its here and i missed it) And a database for the top manufacturers of parts FOR our trucks. So when i go to purchase something... I'm not left out in the cold. I can look here... .says.... there are 14 adjustable track bars at current... here are the companies and here are the ratings in real time. Same with every part. Like... i wouldnt have known who T&T was for the d44 axle truss.. if i hadnt read the thread on the blue MJ on here with the 35s on it. I love finding info like that and having it on hand. :)
  23. Anyone have a part # for the rear brake line? from the dakota or whatever everyone always mentions. I want to get my lines here in a few and can't find enough info to ask for the right part when i go down to napa. :)
  24. HELL YEAH! :) I'm leaving for camping in 4 hours. But ill be back next week. I have to finish the lift on my manch and then lift my buddies chero and then we are going out wheelin. So PM me your cell and i can text you when we go out. The more jeeps the better!
