  1. manchekid... that looks REALLY good. Most say that SOA is minimum 6 in the rear. So a 4.5 up front should look raked. but yours looks quite level. Whats up with that? i want to do SOA and 6 up front so bad. :)
  2. And i may still sell both shells. I just chill day by day and don't worry about anything, so if i decide to sell em or someone beats me down there and gets this one, then so be it. Id gladly drop mine off in LA when i come down to go camping at palomar mountain in a few weeks. Or i may even bring this one down there. Never know. I know they don't make em anymore and they arent easy to find, so I'm sure people wouldnt mind doubling my 55 dollars spent if i drove it to their house. cause I'm gonna have to pay some "helpers" to come haul it out anyways. fiberglass shell is not only awkward, but not nearly as light as it seems it would be. I know mine is twice as heavy as anyone who has moved it, has thought it would be. Same sentiment every time. "bahhh its just a camper shell... lets do this" They pick it up and go.. WTF DUDE this is insane. hahahah. Thanks for the blessing remi, and i will do my best. i don't want to see any MJ parts get crushed. Id really like the trans and Tcase extra chillin at my house. We shall see how things go over the time period that this truck sits there.
  3. :rotfl2: Your crackin me up dude. You need an award for shortest post ever. So... whats the deal? pedal is concrete like? rubbery feel? did you inspect stuff? pedal rod popped out of the master cyl? something out of place with pedal arm? clutch failed and won't allow slave cyl travel? has to be something simple.
  4. Another one saved.
  5. Akula, i need to look into a battery powered cutter to do such a thing. Maybe someone local and on this forum has one and can go with and help. I don't have any way of getting that at this point. Depending on what its worth to you, i could always rent a cutter as long as your willing to cover all that. Part/rental/shipping. Let me know your thoughts. And we will see if any other vegas folks chime in. I know harley is out of town. I have to PM him back now. :)
  6. Well shelby, the right rear flare is busted in half. So just the left rear is in one piece and it has some gouges in it youd have to see. Shelby, my shell is the kind that slowly ramps up in the rear. So you can haul taller stuff at the very back. Kinda cool lookin but ive always wanted a cab height one. miser, if you really want that bed... gonna have to do some footwork. Call R&L carriers and ask how much to ship a pickup bed. They will give you a quote. Then youd have to pay them to meet me at that junk yard, and we will have to get like 4 or 5 guys to carry it from the back of the yard, out to the road so R&L can put it in their freighter. Its gonna be a bit to get that deal done. The bed has a bit of denting on the rocker right in front of the right rear wheel but overall its very solid and nice. As it stands, I'm trying to even work logistics to get the bed topper OUT to the parking lot and on my truck. That alone is gonna be a miracle to get worked out. Ill keep you all posted on what i get from the truck. Since i now have a list of the stuff that everyone is after.
  7. I didnt think of that.... but its an 8.25. Now that ive stared at every detail so i can verify the difference between d35 and 8.25.. i was sure when i saw it. Its under an earlier chero, that has been modded. Has a lift etc etc. Shelby.... i offered my shell to the other guy, but he hasnt responded. So..... i can send you pics if youd like? (youd be next in line) I'm leaning toward getting this one and selling mine. We shall see as i get payed bigtime this friday, then i can go do a thrashfest and bring home the good stuff. :) Nobody is even looking at this truck. Its great.
  8. .....
  9. Also forgot to mention, WHILE we were pulling this axle...my buddy says... dude! get up and look! The junk yard guys are pulling parts to be sold through their website (pre pulled parts) and they are piling them onto a truck to haul back up to their wherehouse... what kind of truck would you guess they were using? lol. A SWB white comanche. LOADED to the roofline with stuff.
  10. Always start with basics. Id say replace the fuel filter first if its old, then do fuel pressure and volume tests first. Also throw a vacuum gauge on the engine and verify all is mechanically ok. Then if all checks out, move toward the known renix issues that are well discussed on this board. By the time your done dialing in all the known trouble areas, you will likely have fixed the issue. :wrench:
  11. Who did the U joint replace? did they change the front joint?
  12. Their site shows 82.50 for tail gates. A bit steep but i mean, they don't make them anymore. lol. And as for shipping i would send it greyhound. Thats always the best way. Ive sent huge bench seats on there for under 50 bucks. A friend sent a bus nose and another sent a couch! lol. Greyhound has empty buses just for shipping. Works great. Again, lemme know. I have paypal. So we can make stuff happen.
  13. That one in the first post, would be bad @$$ if it was lifted 6 inches and a tad more tire. Would be nice if they do it, problem is it will be like any new "anticipated" model these days. It will be off the charts on price. New jeep pickup!.... $41k starting. Everyone will go.. WTF. lol.
  14. I did grab the shock plates for extras for me, but if your in need i can ship ya one. Especially if they are same as the ones i already have. ill be SOA before too long anyways. (has anyone ever used the orig shock plates for an SOA?) just have shock connected above leafs? As for the headliner, someone got that already. Its 4wd. skidoo, if you want stuff let me know. As with any part or any person on here... if its something you really need then PM me and lets talk. Ill ship it and stuff, just as long as the part and shipping are covered and some gas money for me. I'm not gonna charge an arm and a leg to go get parts. I don't mind helping folks out cause i know how this is, as ive said before I'm a preservationist since I'm into old vw buses and antiques anyways. So when something is rare and parts are needed, i don't want to see a single thing go to waste. Cause if you guys don't get these parts.. these a$$holes could care less. They will crush this truck just as it sits. Complete. Ive seen em do it. It pisses me off to no end. Id rather get the whole truck out and get it driving again. But that takes an executive order to get done :fs1: There is like a dozen 4.0's in nice shape in this yard (225 each with 25 dollar core), 2 2.5s and i found an 88 chrysler 8.25 with 4.10s that i was debating on too. SO much cool stuff. Hell this manch had bilsteins on it, that don't look too bad. I'm gonna inspect those tmrw... 5.50 per shock? really..lol
  15. IT has a tan bench in it. Dude i want that camper shell also, i have one now but i like that style more. Maybe you can have a look at mine, and if you want it we can do a trade deal. Drive up from LA and grab one of the 2. I have to ask them what they even want for it. *just checked their site* looks like it would be 55 bucks. Id gladly sell mine for 55 bucks. That is of course if you liked it. If not, this ones yours. last thing i need right now is to drop 55 bucks on a shell i will rarely use. I just have a high dollar one that came with my manch that is not the style i prefer. So i run pickup status all the time. Shells in the back yard.
  16. ok. :) and.. ok. The truck has 99k miles on it, the junk yard one. So this axle should be in decent shape... but the fluid that came out looked like motor oil that had 10k miles on it. BLACK. So.. we shall see.
  17. you must have been posting right as i posted my last one. See it? 137.50. then a 20 dollar core. And tax. So i payed 175 OTD.
  18. Oh yeah, anyone want to verify that I'm right or wrong in that, all the stuff i see online says.. this tag thats at 5 O clock on the diff cover, is to say it has a factory LSD in it.. right? It just keeps gettin better. hehehe. 137 for an axle... WIN!!! but with fees and core and tax.... 175 otd. Still a sweet deal to me.
  19. Its an exact truck. 91, LWB, 4.0 5 speed NP231. 3.07 gears. So i will go back tmrw and grab that driveline. Its wired up inside the truck, by the tow driver who towed it. I didnt know it was even there till i looked. WAY up under the bed. Wired tight. :) I though that would be the case, as this diff looks much longer/snout than mine. So i looked at the drivline and went.. i should grab that.... NAAAAH. lol!!! back i go!
  20. So i was looking at some more threads as i plan on many mods coming soon. Well i re read more info on axles, and ran out to my truck to refresh my memory as i was CERTAIN i had an 8.25 chrysler under there..... get out there.. look..... ... d35!!!! :wall: ...... :fs1: That doesnt cut it for me. SO i decided i needed to head to the junk yard pronto for some ideas and see what was out there at current. I walk down the row to where the jeeps are.... i get close...W T F!!!!!!!! what is THIS doing in there!! NO WAY!!!! I walk around it amazed at its minty condition... this is a tragedy of epic proportions. Likely a donation by some @$$ clown.. to some charity... :fs2: Then it hits me... look underneath jackass..... NO WAY!!!!!  I drove home 100 mph to get tools. Called my 6'5" beast of a friend and headed back out there. A manch D44! its MINE!!!! So now all i have to do is regear it. I have no less than 30 4.10 R&Ps for less than 75 bucks saved on my favs list. And i build differentials no sweat. So ill regear and be STOKED! 20 mins and it was out. My tech question is. Do i need to go back and get the driveline out of that truck, or will the one i have be same length and work fine? d35 to d44. ANyone need anything off this truck? its DEEP in bomb @$$ parts. The shell is MINT. bed liner, perfect tail gate, everything is sweet. And of course I'm down on funds right now or id try and buy the bed for a trailer... :headpop: Ill prob go back for the hood as mine is off a chero, doesnt fit perfect and has dents. This one is CLEAN.
  21. Yeah for many people the AC is never on anyways, and your power steering doesnt draw much HP when your on the freeway going straight. It only loads the motor when your turning. I'm getting between 21 and 23 mpg on the freeway loaded down with the AC ON and averaging 80 mph. can't wait for my next camping trip which will be very lightly loaded and NO ac the whole way. See what kind of mpg i can knock down. :)
  22. We gonna have our own chat room now? This rocks!
  23. I'm not like a T case pro, but i do know there is a nice tag right on the back of mine thats clean and clear. NP model 231. Just about any junk yard should have scads of cherokees and a few manches that have this Tcase mounted to the back of the same trans as yours. And id bet you can get em for CHEAP. Thats what id do. Toss on another one. :)
  24. Lots of good parts to be picked there. What axles were under them? Wish i lived closer, id love to have that short bed/back half for a manch trailer. :)
