Damn thats sad...seriously don't want to see any MJ's getting crushed. dude if i were you i would discuss with them either getting them out of there, or if not then cut them in half and keep the beds for trailers. Here in NV thatd be my only choice. These a$$holes won't let you get ANY car back out of the scrap yard. But every part can be used and you could prob make a decent chunk of change selling the stuff here in the classys. hoods... doors.. grill bumpers..tailgates...interior stuffs...... dude id be stacking parts as fast as i could if i were you. :)

Throttle body cleanout.
mountainman replied to ParadiseMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
:agree: x2. Berrymans is THE best carb clean there is. Ive used them all and i build carbs and engines for a living. I can't stand weak carb clean that doesnt dissolve carbon. Whats the point? lol -

 33x10.5 km2s on 8 inch wheel right? This is the EXACT look i want for my wheel and tire combo. But i may have round hole black soft 8s. Trying for rubicon/moab wheels but.. getting the proper tire profile in 16.... i havent seen a pic yet of the tall skinny look i like. Plus sucks when its tire time... they are 30 to 40% more per tire. we shall see -
ahhhhh ok. makes sense. Yeah widow makers def require some skill.

Any pics of where the shims go? I want to see this/learn. I had my control arms off doing repairs and i didnt see anything adjustable at all. Just bolt holes. Thats why i thought they made adjustable LCA's. But if there is a way to adjust caster on our trucks that would make sense. -
better be some NICE mjs to make a parts rig out of this one. I think id keep this one and scrap lesser ones. 4.0/4wd/auto.... yeah id keep that in one piece. lol.

If you kick @$$ on this, you should be able to get it done quite quickly. Drink lots of 5 hour energy drinks and don't get frustrated. Sounds real easy just by the info jeff gave. Only issue you may have to handle is the driveline. Hopefully it just goes right in too. You should have all the parts you need now. My 2 cents... don't mess with that lumina radiator setup. You could do away with the expansion tank setup while doing this conversion also. The radiator for 91 comanche is only 80 bucks on rockauto.com Then a few hoses from your local parts house and youll have a cleaner engine bay and nice normal cooling system. And since it all basically plugs right in... should be running in no time. SWEEEET. :)

What width wheels are those? looks great man. :) -
Some pretty solid avenues online for getting the truck titled again if thats what you want. ITS titles, and the way through vermont DMV... etc. do some hunting. Can prob get a title in a month or so quite cheaply.

Tranny swap done. FIXED AND ROLLING
mountainman replied to ParadiseMJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
happy ending. ...... -
Be careful, your scaring that poor turdyota to death. :D It must have a chevy in it to turn tire that size. Stock toyota engines can't even scare hamsters.

Damn i missed this. I could chilled too. Next time i guess. :)

oh wow... didnt know that was anything special. There was a complete one of these at the junk yard a while back. I though the grill looked horrible but.... if anyone out there is after these let me know. I can keep eyes peeled and grab the next one i see for ya. :)

Read the rest of his email shenanigans. Youll be in tears in just a few minutes. He has TONS.

You can prob call them and get that lift and have them omit the leafs. Since MJ and Xj leafs are diff lengths entirely. Then just SOA your truck and roll out. That pic of that XJ flexing on there is BAD @$$

If youve worked on cars for any length of time you'll notice, pretty much every clutch master cyl leaks back into the cab down the pedal rod. Its a common deal. I cleaned my fuse box real well with electrical cleaner. I douched it till it was dry all over. (entire can) Then i put a nice rag above the fuse box in a wad. As the master drips it will now absorb into the rag. i check the rag every so often and see how much I'm losing. Very little at all. So ill just re rag every 6 months or so and be good to go. :)

Just read the entire thread start to finish. Hours of staring at the monitor. now i need some food but first i must say... DUDE! Your MJ is like... what i dreamed of in my head... in real life. Ive been hunting for one that check marked all the boxes/options i had envisioned. You did that and then some. I know a long road lie ahead of me, but it is much clearer now that i found someone who has done it the way i dreamed. :) Thanks for this bad @$$ thread. Your truck is my new fav. :) It reminds people that bad @$$ vehicles evolve. They arent just built and stay the way version 1 is.
