A local guy here put Prelude seats in his MJ. Turned out good and they were very supportive and comfy too.

All the cool kids are building their rigs low and finding and stuffing big tires on them. If I were to do an MJ again, I'd do 3.5" RE Superflex kit and 33x10.50's. Dana 30 with a 44/8.8 and 4.56's. Why tall lifts suck.

It would be very cool to have an MJ with a BMW V12 under the hood. Having said that, there a lot of other easier motor swaps that would yield more power, fuel economy, and HP to weight ratio.

Offer him $250. It's not a bad deal with the disc conversion on it. If you plan on re-gearing you'll ditch the Lincoln locker anyway.

What makes it stronger than the D44 gears; gears, axle housing, shafts...? I shouldn't have said stronger, that's a bad word. How about "about-as-strongish"? It's got an 8 7/8 ring gear to the 44's 8 1/2. The shafts are roughly the same size, but the AMC is a 29 spline while the 44 is 30. I'd say the housings are equally as strong, but the 20 has a super badass perfectly round cover. (Feel free to correct me if I got anything wrong there.) Either one is a good axle.

Put some Elmers glue on it and stick it back in.

There are a couple guys in that area that might be willing to take a look at it for you. I.E. reson46 and 1990 Pioneer 4x4, maybe if you asked them nicely...........

I'd love to get a good look at that and see how well it was done. Could be pretty cool. Yes, that hood is garbage.
