don't know of any stations around here with non-ethanol fuel anymore. may have to try the ethanol remover additive. just talked to a guy with a non running 76 KZ400 for sale as a parts bike. should be able to snag it for $150. from the pics it looks to be in as good condition as mine. he just doesn't have a title for it. but it has electric start and mine is kick only. I will most likely be keeping it at work over the winter (heated shop) so I will be able to run it around whenever the roads are dry. I rode my last bike all winter that way (albeit 20 yrs ago) :D . already found a Kawi twin forum similar to CC. Very well run with good folks. was on there two days and someone gave me a owners manual and shipped it NC.

picked it up on the cheap. fun little bike.
-
that thing looks hammered. he can find a stock one for not much more than that. tell him to run away, and quickly
-
You did nothing wrong. You offered and they accepted. You could have had to replace everything they already put in cause it was junk parts. I picked up a mint 71 Torino a ways back cause the PCV hose was broken at the base of the carb and it wouldn't idle for poop. I saw it when I checked it out but kept my mouth shut. After I sealed the deal, in front of the used car manager who sold it to me, I broke off the split end of the hose and reattached it. That Cleveland purred like a lion. The guy laughed, lit a smoke and told me I owed him a beer. :D

It has helped me rationalize my need to drive a 23 YO rusty PU, with pride, when I really have no need to. It has helped me rationalize spending money on a rusty 23 YO 160,000mile PU when my pristine '73 Hornet with 50K on the clock has sat in a barn for 6 years with the engine apart. Thanks CC. No one likes being crazy by themselves :D

glad he is OK. I recommend going back and snapping some pics of the scene just in case you need them for future litigation. The homeowner could try to sue saying he had to repair his entire lawn and resurface his whole driveway. There is on street parking on my street and I am always having to give up my right of way because the oncoming vehicle doesn't realize that if the parked car is on THEIR side THEY need to stop.

I have that as the background shot on my work computer. When it goes on the big screen before the powerpoint starts, all the techs in class want to know if it is going to be production :).

red, but with a set of wheels to match your truck

I figured you were out on a massive MJ safari. Waiting for you to post up pics of a score that doubled the size of your collection. :D Don't work TOO hard there Mr. Wild. When you gonna be in Roch again?
-
So, how do you like your 48?
-
That wouldn't be Raytheon by any chance, would it?

Inspection FAILED! Noob needs help :)

Starting in model year 1996 passenger vehicles had to meet OBDII regulations. Part of these regulations included controlling evaporative emissions. This was done by having fuel systems sealed and monitored, typically by using vacuum decay of the fuel system. (except Chrysler, who used a pressure pump. Really stupid). This is where the fuel filler cap comes in to play. If the cap seal or the pressure relief system for the cap was bad, it would throw a CEL. He is taliking about actual tailpipe testing, where they check the exhaust for HC, CO and NOx typically. A faulty gas cap isn't going to affect your tail pipe readings for any of these.
