Guys will tell you- "don't fix what's not broken". I'm in this camp- You got 30 years and 240K out of the pump............it's been broken for a long time. Fix it before you're stranded.

Do you want to rephrase that question? LOL

Temperature fluctuations

Others will tell you it's normal, I will tell you it's not. Your pick. -
What's keeping you from installing a new pump?

Water Outlet/T-Stat Housing
Jeep Driver replied to WahooSteeler's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
The last item I bought from RA was a stat housing, Four Seasons. What I can tell you is the quality is not nearly OEM, for sure. I went to drill it out for the temp switch..........cheap, thin, metal was not as dense, garbage.......chucked it. I really wish I could convince you guys to stop buying from RA........to no avail. For you 4.0 guys.........these can still be found used, OEM. -
With what?

This is why I have always bled with the engine running........I want to know what's going on, how it feels, in it's working state. Sounds to me like a bad booster as you noted......but........you are there and I can only guess.

They are cheap, $100.

There is also a compressor clutch relay.

Should I cut up my truck?
Jeep Driver replied to Deleted's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
What I find interesting about this argument/discussion is the irony of it all. It all boils down to two things, taste and objective. A man will say -no, don't cut- yet that same man will have no problem with decals, graphics, wraps, or two-tone paints (oh, and dare I mention rolled-on bedliner paint jobs and rattle can jobs). All of which I find tasteless, artless, atrocious. Rare exceptions of course would be classic rally sport stripes on muscle cars. Badges should be minimal and artful, I find the Comanche badge to be heavy and gaudy. I'd rather have nothing, I will have nothing. In my case- My bed died the death of a thousand dents, didn't look bad at a distance but it has been abused, their was not 1 sq inch of rail that was not effected by a dent. I spent many hours getting the sides straight, the inside is a lost cause but a tonneau cover will save me. I really had nothing to lose by cutting, front fenders can still be found, again, really nothing to lose. But, I like the look. When the truck is finished and the 34s mounted, should look pretty good. Objective- 14" rotors in the front with 6 pot calipers........you need 18" wheels. Two caliper rear brakes. If and when I can afford it. There is nothing and will be nothing original or 'stock' on my truck when I'm finished.......I have my vision of what I want........you guys won't see what I see until I'm done, I guess. -
There is a share icon on the upper right..........three dots. Shares post and post links to thread at the same time. If this is what you want to accomplish.

Thank you. This is one subject rarely touched on here.

OK. You can buy a cat, bolt it up. You can pay a muffler shop a few bucks to weld it up. You can cut off the flange of the Walker and use a clamp. You can just got to a muffler shop and have them make you a new down pipe. Many options.
-
That is a Cat flange, you'll find on the end of a replacement cat. You can make your own flange.......you'll have to weld.

Image that.

The snout change came later, around '97 IIRC. You can install an early serpentine balancer on a later snout but not a later balancer on an early snout...........no shim. If your MJ has AC, the later AC compressor will not mate to your existing lines AND the later balancer will not go on the snout..........so.........for all practical purposes the later TJ/XJ MPI accessories are out of the question. You'll need a complete accessory package/assembly from a '87-'90 XJ or MJ.

I've had mine for 6 years.........not a drop.

No, he needs the jamb side bracket. You are not going to find that new. Junkyard.

An affordable alternative. I have these on the XJ and I could not imagine using sealed beams again. https://www.summitracing.com/parts/hla-003427811?seid=srese1&cm_mmc=pla-google-_-shopping-_-srese1-_-hella&gclid=Cj0KCQjwz6PnBRCPARIsANOtCw3CNHRYrrYhA8qT93w-Hnjx4f4SDchwY-KQoDb8jPexa3GR6L2l3SEaApetEALw_wcB

Should I cut up my truck?
Jeep Driver replied to Deleted's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
In case none of you have figured it out- I do what I want and I don't give damn what anyone thinks about it. If you want a large wheel/tire you are going to have to cut. -
WJs are not longer. WJs do offer greater turning clearance. You need adjustables, uppers and lowers.
