  1. Or $633.00 As of last night I have the money for new tires that I'm getting on Wednesday, so, as of today I began saving for the JW Speakers. Regardless of LED or not, you need a good clean power supply, harness is a must. As for foot well lights, look to aftermarket LEDs, accent lights or 'driving lights' or DRLs. Those work much better.
  2. Sorry, maybe I read too much into your original post. Most of us do our own work, it would be a given for me to, as I have done, replace seals, bearings, clean tubes, clean center section, inspect, replace pinion seal.....etc........ Since you are having a shop do this- what's the cost? What else do you need done to pass inspection? What happens when you sink $500 into a couple of seals and brake job and still not pass inspection?
  3. For 33s you'll need a lift.....new suspension. Get the seal replaced and new brakes........then your inspection. One thing at a time. If you are thinking of re-gearing- it isn't just something you do 'while you're there', it's expensive. If you have a shop re-gear- I'm guessing, with NY labor prices and gear prices you're probably at about $1200 per axle.
  4. Core drill out broken screw. Epoxy in plastic anchor. Both of which can be found at bLowes.
  5. How much do you want for it I'll take it at a reasonable price
  6. The rubber dries out and gets hard, the pulley will turn on the hub causing the squealing sound you hear. If you have not narrowed it down to a bearing...........it's the balancer. Common problem. You are standing in front of your Jeep/engine, you diagnose............no cannon involved.
  7. Yes it is What throwout bearing did you use?
  8. Couple of things here- Unless you had a problem with the master/slave there was no reason to bleed the system for a simple clutch change. Unless your synchros are trashed- you can shift without the clutch, AXs are not very forgiving but with some practice you can seamlessly shift without depressing the clutch. So, I'm wondering why you grind when shifting? Where is your pedal at now compared to before the replacement?
  9. Why?? Lower is cooled coolant coming in. So your switch is lagging by about 40 degrees or more.....maybe 60 degrees. I want my switch to react to the temp in the head.
  10. There is a harness that runs to the lights on the B-pillars, if you have it will be in that harness with terminal that reaches where the light would go. That is a separate harness, just because you have the terminal in the dash harness may not mean you have it in the cab harness. Mine doesn't either.
  11. The 97 up assemblies are completely different..........somewhere I have a thread and pics on this. Assembly from 86-95.........96? IDK with changes. Ask around here, those are getting real hard to find now.
  12. Well, guess you've gone all caveman. Same with the ancient bell too. Slave, internal or external slave, or doughnut if you wish.
  13. Drill and tap to 3/8npt. The only one that works.
  14. So you are rebuilding the 85 is that correct? If so why didn't you just get a 2.5 out of say a 98 Wrangler?
  15. To answer your question directly if you're not using the CPS did any flywheel work you can get a 91 up flywheel you'll be fine. That said you can never go back without pulling the trans off and replacing the flywheel. 86 to 91 flywheels are unattainable they don't exist I looked on eBay last night and you can't even get a used one right now. You say you want to get the new one or the old new one ready before you swap it in it's only takes a couple of minutes to transfer the flywheel from one engine to the other ones you have them both out so I don't really understand what your point is. The wise thing to do is to transfer your existing flywheel to the other engine if the points distributor and carb does not work out for you you can always go back to what you had before. If you're thinking you're going to get more performance out of a carburetor well maybe you will but it'll be expensive you're wiser to stick with what you got.
  16. Just curious what makes you think the 85 is any better than the one you've got?
  17. Let's back up............ What year is your MJ? MJs 86 through 90 were TBI, do you want to retain TBI?
  18. So are you saying the DUI was a good investment?
