  1. It's possible, none of us are there so..........just guessing............ If the headlight switch has melted down, it could be back-feeding a 12v circuit, the ignition circuit somehow. It's aggravation, I know, but you are just going to have to start stripping it down and chasing and inspecting.
  2. C101 gets eliminated not cleaned or replaced. Have you got a test light? If not, get one. Make a fused jumper. Jump from the pos bat post to each of the red wires. Test to see which circuit comes to life.........one circuit at a time. If any one of the red wires fries the fuse........you will know which circuit of the four has the problem. You will need to replace your headlight switch.......cheap, like $14 anywhere. Inspect the connector, if the switch is fried it's likely the connector is too. Ignition switch, inspect, clean, adjust.........or replace. Inspect wires at ignition switch. Throw the Haynes in the trash where it belongs. There is an excellent wiring diagram here, someone will post, download it. Chances are your problem lies in your fuse block and headlight switch and ignition switch. Also, light harness at rad support driver's side is generally problematic.
  3. Must be in good presentable and usable condition. Thank you.
  4. He needs to review Cruiser's Tips, then- He needs to replace all his battery cables. Delete C101. Replace fuse block. Replace ignition switch. Improve all grounds (ALL). Add more grounds. Inspect and clean all connectors. Inspect and repair all wiring harnesses. He will likely end up replacing all sensors. Until then.............chasing gremlins.
  5. Based on your posts- You have a mess, you need to begin cleaning up your mess. You need to attack your mess methodically. Your mess is not uncommon with MJs or XJs of the era. Yes, your MJ will runaway with some of your money. As for fusible links- I've addressed here several times and here is a solution-
  6. If the valves on #4 are stuck open, you won't get 30psi.......you'll get 0psi. If the valves are stuck closed............something is broken, a valve will move from closed to open, if not.........bent push rod at the least. If the valves are stuck closed and all you got was 30psi........something is broken. If a valve is stuck open or partially open.......you'll get some clacking when running. You can read your plugs. You can read your oil. You can read your coolant. This will tell you a lot in just a couple of minutes. Something is broken, the head is coming off, pretty sure about that. If it's in the valve train/head.............$500 for valve job, gaskets, bolts, fluids, cleaning supplies......etc......... Inspect the bores, if the bottom is good......just replace the head.
  7. If you raise compression you are reducing blow-by. Blow-by is the result of loss of compression. Gasses that would otherwise be compressed are passing by the rings..........blowing-by the rings, building high pressure within the block, that pressure has to escape.
  8. Just an image on google........don't know anything about the truck. That corner has been completely reworked, whatever that tail light is out of it did not just slip in. The tailgate does not look original either and the third brake light is also from something else. Tow truck in background and shop number on back window..........looks like body shop/wrecker service/salvage yard.......MJ owner has resources and talent.
  9. You likely have a '87 with an '86 build date. Also, '86 only came with the 2.5 or 2.8 engine, 4.0 did not come until '87.
  10. There never was a '86 short bed. All '86s are long beds. May want to check your title. Or run an accurate VIN decode.
  11. Good deal on the sway bar.............gotta be hard to find now. Glad I'm not looking anymore.
  12. Thicknesses and diameters...............I don't think you can mix and match.
  13. This is a 12 year old thread.........the dude is long gone.
  14. There isn't one nor has there ever been one for the Comanche. Here is what one looks like on the Comanche-
  15. Whatever came of this?
  16. This is one I want more information on-
  17. Super nice!
  18. SD screwed me once.........never again. Secondly, that is not for Comanche. Thirdly, Blazer will fit, some S10s, for about $20, also 7/8 bar.
