Last thing I have to say........bouncing off your post............ It takes me about 2 hours to trim my grass here, lots of areas that are inaccessible with a tractor. Cordless is out of the question. As for the pole saw- You are trimming your palm trees and you get down the last 4 palm fronds, unless you have multiple batteries............there you sit for 1.5 hours while you recharge. And the worst thing you can do is let your expensive battery packs idle for the off-season.

You asked for thoughts............... I have a wealthy customer who bought into the cordless lawn tool crap, chainsaw, weedeater, pole saw.............etc........ All laying in the corner of his garage collecting dust. Conversely, I bought an Echo trimmer precisely 10 years ago to the month, used in on multiple properties over the years (I mowed three properties per week for years), ZERO maintenance other than converting the spool. Carb finally bit the dust last month, rather than $84 for a new carb I replaced the trimmer three weeks ago with a new Echo. I'm all about cordless......love the electrics, but............S---- is just S----.

This is the mindset of virtually every member here. It will take me years to have what I want but I will have what I want.

Rear.

Just go to Wilwood.com I have not installed mine yet and I won't before I finish painting my truck. I have yet to see another MJ/XJ with a set of Wilwoods.
-
If you want these.........you need those. Those only came on 87-89 Jeeps and are hard to find now.
-
Why? You can get a pair of axles from a '98 geared 3.55 for $300. If you are not doing big brakes your knuckles will pay for a good D30.......that one you get free. Rear only costs you $150...............now you regeared for $150. Price getting your axles regeared.............you'll come around to the smart way of thinking.
-
DO NOT! scrap those knuckles on your existing D30. Sell those on Ebay for "big brake" upgrade. Worth about $150 for the pair. Should look like these-

Front Springs rubbing

OME 930..............if you are already at 2-3" lift.............OMEs are the only springs you want to look at. -
The 8.25 is quite at home under my MJ.

Axle is freight. You won't ship that anywhere for under $250. You won't , no one want's those. Late model XJ axle swap........countless threads on the subject. Best bang for your buck.

And they still can't give it away.

Interesting how few people will pick up a phone and have a verbal conversation anymore. I called just to let them know.

Front Springs rubbing

Either your front axle is not set up correctly......or............your springs are garbage .........or........both. Quality parts. -
While it's on my mind...........and to bounce off your post............. I like custom work, one-off(s) and I'd like to see more of that here..........hell, I'd like to see it here, period. For those of you who follow Foose's work, the C28, C10 + Z28 project. Foose does not reinvent the wheel, here is where talent combined with experience and imagination comes into play. Take what you've got and make it work. Custom badge-

The only thing I'd like to add here- Two things- The process and the makeup of the materials, companies that produce/manufacture these products such as air damns have about 80 years or more of experience and science behind them, they know what works, what does not, what to do, and what not to do. The home enthusiast/hobbyist does not.......so.......unless you are in the business............. Also, I follow many custom builders, if reproducing parts such as this air dam where so easy they'd all be doing it...........they don't.

Yeah, I'm a bit over the 3D BS. Small parts, prototypes and so forth.......maybe, otherwise, total BS. There is a member here who is going to try 3D printing tail lights, ain't gonna work for several reasons but I'm not going to be the one to tell him. There is no substitute for good old fashioned hand-work and sweat. This really is a generational loss, there is an app for everything idea will be death of craftsmanship. The car below was hand built, metal finished, no paint, no bondo..........pure anadulterated talent.

Perfect, much better.

Here's the deal............. I don't care about air dams.......not one bit, but I'm interested in the concept of someone actually pulling off some custom work. I did some brief reading on mold injection........what I already knew, mold will cost $50-100K with 10,000 units produced. Now that that's off the table......let's get past our delusions. Fiberglass, that is the material that is available to you. Could I reproduce that in fiberglass, I know for a fact I can. I see that as about a 300 hour winter project, maybe a few hundred dollars in materials. I may have a lot of finish work involved but I know I can pull it off, assuming I have a good one to work with. I'm pretty good at doing something one time and having no desire to ever do it again. You put that much effort into an air dam you better have one hell of a truck to install it on. You say, others say- not fiberglass. It's done all the time. If you are worried about running up on the curb at McDonalds? Guys who spend that much time and money and effort don't pull up to McDonalds. let alone curbs. I'm not putting more than 400 hours into my bodywork to drive into the woods and drag a tree down the side of it. Metal forming or fiberglass.........that's what you got. BTW, there is no reason you cannot reinforce the backside with metal.
