  1. I just checked that link I posted.........does not take you to the '98 XJ they have listed. D30 axle shafts will interchange throughout the years, get a pair of later shafts. Take your old ones otherwise they will charge you a core.
  2. I could not burn through the clear otherwise I'd lose the pearl and be screwed. The tricks we learn- filler saved the panel.
  3. Agreed with your curiosity. Something is going on there.
  4. You aren't the first to have done that. No, doesn't matter.
  5. Thank you guys for the comments. 95% of the cab is acceptable but the 5% I can't live with. I have a couple of areas with too much texture and I also have one run to deal with. I've decided to let it sit for a week then start wet sanding, I'll respray the clear in a couple of weeks. If I don't now it will never happen. Also, the engine compartment is a shade off from the body, when I gut the bay again I think I'll do something radical there.
  6. I have two Jeep dealers near me without going to Knoxville. The parts manager for one is an old-timer who is very helpful and has worked with me in the past. The other is run by young guys who flat told me they were not interested in finding parts which are not 'in the system'. Talk to the parts people.........hopefully you'll find helpful people. As a side note- I used to order through Morris 4x4 until they removed Comanche from their parts search list. I could still order by part number but I refuse, I sent them a complaint email some time ago and they never bothered to respond. You'll find that others don't bother to list the Comanche either. You'll see the XJ guys get pushed out before long.
  7. I can appreciate that you have (apparently) some sort of dealer access, however............ In the Renix world the 4.0 and 2.5 CPSs are the same. #33004761 is an AMC/Renix/Siemens/Mopar original part. Renix is Bendix is Siemens. I'm not certain of the other part number, not all NOS or current Mopar is NOS OEM, this has been discussed here before- In my 88 2.5 currently is an original Renix CPS, functioning properly for better than 30 years. I have also played the NOS game, fun in the beginning but becomes a chore and a bore. Ultimately NOS will disappear. As you point out only 18 33004761s available in the US and none overseas that I could find......I thought that Renault might have carried it over from other vehicles. I currently have 2, Siemens, NOS OEM. There will come a day when you will gladly pay for any part that actually works. Time is not on your side.
  8. What part number? I'm well aware of Vintage, I've bought from them through my local dealer. Also, what price?
  9. Discontinued part, dealer won't have it.
  10. Go pull the axle shafts from this- https://www.lkqpickyourpart.com/locations/LKQ_Pick_Your_Part_-_Chattanooga-217/recents/
  11. Ummmmm..........well..............it would have never occurred to me.
  12. It'll cost you $20 to prove me wrong.
  13. Can you post a pic of what you bought?
  14. NOS ones show up on ebay from time to time. Part# 33004761 Mopar
  15. I've not seen anyone post any kind of master list of colors. Couple guys have sales brochures, maybe they'll post them here again. Not sure if they list colors available for years advertised. My color is Coffee, I've only seen one other guy here with the same color.......not common. My paint guy had a hard time finding it in his books, formula was listed in his computer though.
  16. A consensus among Jeep people?..........now that's funny.
  17. Tom Cruise is probably the only actor I'll spend money to watch. Thanks.
  18. https://www.ebay.com/itm/283465585478 Here is an alt bracket and alt.
  19. As with any failure you can be left stranded, I'm for Efans. I'd look to diesel fans, small tractor, I'm assuming they pull more air and low RPMs.
  20. 84 to 95 XJ and all MJs are the same. Variations will be column shift or floor shift, tilt or non-tilt.
