  1. Does indicate the O2 sensor is bad?
  2. I have the same issues that Bum has. My REM will switch to closed loop after about 2-3 minutes of operating. It will then switch back to open and remain in OL. I have on the display: Eng Temp, O2 v, heater relay v and Open/closed Loop. (mostly open.) My eng temp is consistently 190* +/- Relay volts are consistent 12.5 v +/- O2 v starts out at 4.98. As the engine warms up, the volts drop. Once it reaches operating temp (190*) it runs at 2.0 to 2.3. Occasionally, it will drop below 2.0. The Renix ecu is supposed to run in open loop until the O2 heater reaches operating temp (~1200*). If the O2 sensors are "operating" as their supposed to, then why does to switch to open loop? The O2 is relatively new: ~1 yr. I installed NTK/NGK sensor.
  3. What Don said. It's like watching the same movie preview with caption "coming soon."
  4. Since a manual did not have a TCM, you will need the one from the XJ. Forget about the tcase since you are 2wd. You will need the drive shaft length adjusted. I believe the manual and auto trans are diff lengths.
  5. I have found that leaving the windows open .25" to .5" lets the hot air vent out. Also, a sun shade helps.
  6. 89 for 89 is a direct swap. Just pull one engine for the other. P-N-P.
  7. What year is the XJ? Yours is (probably) a Renix engine. 91+ XJs have HO engines. The engines will swap over, but you will/may need to swap all the electronics from the XJ. Fill in your profile so others know what you have.
  8. Funny story. My wife and I purchased a used 2003 Chevy Sub 2500. I did not come with the owner's manual. The radio has the "self adjusting volume." As the speed increased, the radio volume gets louder. We found this to be very ANNOYING, especially for people in the back when we tried to have a conversation. I would turn down the volume as I sped up, then increase the volume when I slowed down. One day I was complaining about this with my daughter in the truck. She looked at the radio and asked "What does this button do?" She pressed it. Problem solved!
  9. Yes. Lots of owners have done it. Is yours 4wd? If so, you will need a transmission with a 21 spline output shaft. Later models (90+?) have 23 splines. These won’t fit your t-case. If you get an XJ auto you could swap all the necessary parts
  10. The cruise control system uses two cables: One from the t-case through the fire wall to a rev-counter (long cable); second from the rev counter to the back of the speedo (short cable). To my knowledge, the short cable is NLA. The rev-counter feeds the engine speed to the control module. The servo works off a vacuum. A cable runs from the servo to the throttle body to keep the engine speed constant. As mentioned, the short cable is inside the cab, behind the instrument cluster. I have an extra short cable. I pulled it from some junk XJs. The long cable is still available from NAPA.
  11. "Through early morning fog I see..." Brings back fond memories of a great show. I am looking for the helicopters coming in with wounded. Wish I could get out there to see it.
  12. I am not a lawyer. (I did not play one on TV; I did not sleep at a Holiday Inn Express) Somewhere someone owns the patents for the parts. If the owner finds out that someone is making that part AND SELLING THEM, the owner may sue for lost revenue and legal fees...if they find out about it. If you make it for your own personal use, they cannot go after you. Continue at your own risk.
  13. I will be there Saturday. A set of seat brackets would be nice
  14. I'd consider selling the whole seat. You just have to get them.
  15. The seat is the new fabric. The back is original
  16. Here is the link to the company: https://smsautofabrics.com
  17. Here’s one of them. The second is next to it.
  18. I have a similar pattern in tan/gold. I spoke with an upholstery shop to get mine recovered. They did not have the fabric, but a shop in OR may have it. I called and ordered two yards. What was sent did not match. It is more orange than tan, but the pattern is the same. I will post a picture later. I will get you the name and number also. BTW - I have those exact seats here. They have rocker/slider bases.
  19. That was before the Louisiana Purchase. At that time, the USA only went as far as the Mississippi river. The Ohio territory (current Indiana, Illinois, Michigan) was then the Northwest. After the Louisiana Purchase in 1803, the Ohio territory became the mid-west.
  20. You got one for an HO engine. The polarity is the opposite for a Renix.
  21. Matt with bleepinjeep.com has them in the store - $9.99
  22. I will, but I’m away currently. Be back June 11
