Rockauto seems to be the cheapest. It's $145 after shipping and discounts. not too shabby. Rockauto has 5% discount codes frequently: 280957379195134341 https://old.reddit.com/r/RockAuto/comments/1g09bbd/5_discount_code/ It seems ACC carpets is the supplier. I got the vinyl version. It's not everyone's favorite, but the comanche is my work truck and I wanted some durability. You have to wrestle a bit with the vinyl and it doesn't ever perfectly contour flat to all the geometry of the cab floor, but it's close enough that I don't care or notice. A lot of folks seem to like the non-vinyl version because it contours better and is easier to cut and manipulate.

This is how it's done. There's barely anything there left to scrap. The taps are playing, the buglers are beginning to retire. Dang good run I'd say. Edit: you missed the plastic door sills! How could you

1987 Comanche - purchase questions. 18k miles
Salvagedcircuit replied to ajr's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
You made the one and only correct choice! Congrats good sir! -
Thanks! That brushguard was an excellent score. I had to drive 100mi round trip to grab my sport bar and it was hacked up
-
Hahaha. Thanks!

Woah, same color as mine but with the brush guard. That thing looks incredibly straight. Built like a brick dunny! Greets from the states!

If My comanche ever gets stuck, this is how I would want to be pulled out Nice job!

Woah, is this one going on a 6000+ mile adventure across the alps, on a tour of europe and then by barge back to the states
-
Awesome! I was thinking of using a car dolly and picking up another comanche locally then putting the transmission and transfer case in neutral and tying down the steering wheel. But this takes the cake

Is this an mj roll bar
Salvagedcircuit replied to strictlyxjs's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Thanks. It took some trial and error to get the dimensions right. I think the bar was slightly pinched in to fit into the nissan bed. I had to take a 4x4 and jack to open it back up to the right ballpark. It was also painful to square cut the original bar. sweating bullets lol -
10/10 will be looking forward to the video

Lookin good

I'm sure you can fix it back to new. This thing's full of 74HC logic and probably a motorola 6800. Built like a brick dunny. She'll be right.

UPDATE: NTK O2 sensor 23553 (RENIX)
Salvagedcircuit replied to fiatslug87's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
These above amazon o2 sensors are not for the renix Comanches. A correct o2 sensor climbs to 9ohms under heat. The Amazon one plateaus at 5.7ohms. I swapped the c and b pins as mentioned earlier, installed one in my comanche and the engine would not idle correctly. It sounded like it was going to grenade itself. -

valve cover swap\ mods
Salvagedcircuit replied to motownXJdad's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Before you mount the old cast aluminum valve cover, check the mating surface. Mine was not finished well and I ended up using a metal file and knife sharpening stones to flatten the surface. These imperfections left indentations in my old gasket and I did not want them in my new $40 felpro reusable gasket. -

Woah, I did not realize the sportruck package was only shortbed. I thought it was the base model trim for the entirety of comanche's. That changes things. I really dig the 4x4 and pioneer stripe pack. Here's a longbed medium bronze metallic with a pioneer stripe pack. This specific decal color combo does not have enough contrast for me. You can't read the "pioneer" since the colors are too close. It's a beautiful truck, but it does not seem right. I gotta spend some time in photoshop lol.

I have a medium Bronze Metallic Comanche. I'd like to grab a stripe pack for the original color but I do not know what original options would have been sold with this specific color. Does anyone know is there is a stripe pack matching guide from AMC? This is the only group of photos I've seen of another comanche with the same color as mine from a listing here: https://www.facebook.com/marketplace/item/1428159561214887/ The three stripe packs I'm between: https://phoenixgraphix.com/amc/8792jcmp.php https://phoenixgraphix.com/amc/8790jcmst.php https://phoenixgraphix.com/amc/1986jcm.php I don't know what would actually match with the color I have. Was the sportruck stripe always white? I thought It would be black to match the fenders. Thanks for any input!
