  1. there is some aggravation in FB Marketplace for sure, I called about a dump trailer that was priced "fair" did not seem like a scam at all, on the drive over (about 45-1 hour) guy calls and ask if I want to put down a deposit tell him I'm on my way, get to the house nicest little lady answers the door and she doesn't know anything about a dump trailer I did two things, called the guy back and told him if I could get my hands on him......, then messaged all my friends to inquire and turn the tables on him I like ebay too, I wish (and there may be a way) to filter distances from seller, or travel distance
  2. Once again we are in agreement, even when you list specifics you'll get a boatload of crap to wade through, BUT, you can generally find anything you are looking for, Craigslist here is a joke now, nothing but dealers and vendors, and not worth my time, and offerup or whatever that one is called has very limited traction in my area
  3. I completely agree, I have thought about abandoning it but having friends and Family all over this country and abroad it does help staying in touch a little easier for us, example I have a son who had been stationed halfway around the world, he would let us know when he'd attempt a phone call and we could make sure to be available and have our phones with us (mine anyway because I'm not "attached" to mine) I really like marketplace, Craigslist, I have not looked at it in years, seems to be mostly business listings what are some the competing platforms that you like better??? I peruse buy and sell pages frequently, and do way more buying than I should and unfortunately failing in the "sales" department
  4. You'll get no argument from me on that way too many people are way too attached to their (de)vices
  5. Come on "olddude" get with the program, BTW, I use FB to stay caught up with people I've worked with over the years and to see who is still with us and remember those that have left us and most importantly for Marketplace, there may be better places to buy and sell but I have not found them (yet), one word of advice though If you spot a good deal it is best to have your truck and trailer hooked up and the truck warmed up
  6. I had to do both my doors, 30+ years of "caked" on Junk I used brake cleaner, but mine had some plastic coating that was coming apart, I used a pick and finally got all the old crap out, I may not should have done that (removing the plastic coating) but both doors and locks are functioning great now, and the doors are still closing tight for now anyway
  7. Not a lot of miles on this one Marketplace - 1988 Eagle wagon | Facebook
  8. does it use the factory selector in the cab, looks slick
  9. I think it'll be fine, I know it does not feel like it, but I think you got lucky
  10. I don't have a turbo diesel Comanche, but I am a big fan of diesel and had even considered if I ever need to "re-power" doing a TDI swap BTW, what part of Bama??? I am in the NE corner, about 25 miles east out of Huntsville
  11. it is amazing what a little bit of wear will do to clutch function, at times I love Hydraulic TO bearings, other times I cuss them, The older Hotrods I fooled with really made me hate z bars/bellcranks and heavy clutch/pressure plate combos, and then a compound fracture in my left leg made auto's the clear choice, I enjoy a manual in just about anything the hydraulics have made that tolerable
  12. that's why mine were "out" for repair, new regulators would be nice, or some concise info on other regulators to use/try, repairing them was a little bit of a "test" and when you flip the cable getting it "clamped" back down, was a little tricky, my first attempt, I did not close up the clamp quite as well as the factory had done and made the clamp not want to freely go through the trac, I was able to form the clamp back to a suitable dimension and side 2 went much better, but be fore-warned, pay attention to how they look during disassembly to ensure they will go through the trac
  13. That is the way mine went back together after I repaired the regulators and added vent windows
  14. I agree it seems odd and an unlikely scenario and not what you'd expect on a factory finish, perplexing
