Tried my hand at some resin work
Salvagedcircuit replied to fiatslug87's topic in Member Projects: Other Cool Stuff
Nice work! -
I have been wrestling with the AMC panel alignment gods to finally get my comanche in paint-worthy state. However, the marker lights have been a weird one. I noticed the clone turning signal lights, marker lights, front fascia pieces etc.. have a terrible fitment with oem front panel pieces. I grabbed some used OEM marker lights but some have a yellow stripe towards the grill while others do not. Which is correct? did the style / paint line change over the 1984-1996 years?

The best door seals
Salvagedcircuit replied to ghetdjc320's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I installed new precision door seals on the driver side of my mj. I think it's been about 1.5 years installed. driver door bounces unless i slam it. its very annoying. it did not get easier to close. I did not change my passenger side door and I don't plan on it. -
Please tell me there's manual window cranks Hahaha. Enjoy the new ride! Looks great.

Excellent! -
Same thing just happened with my anderson front screen door handle. 1/8in of the roll pin sheared off and caused the handle to wobble. just needed a new roll pin. She'll be right!

XJ Front Bench Seat
Salvagedcircuit replied to JZLAJeep's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
If you ever take it apart / remove the cover to clean it, I'd Love to see how the headrests were implemented. I wonder if there was a custom welded in bracket in the back. I bet its covered in foam though. It would be neat to see though. The headrest bench seats are so dang rare -
Awesome truck, now get to that front diff!

My Dude is out here speaking the truth. Spraying silicone lube in my manual worm gear is like a 5% improvement. Its embarrassing to roll down my driver window and it sounds like a 1980s kitchenaid mixer missing a few teeth on low. You rock for the suggestion.

Awesome adventure. Thanks for taking us along!

is there anywhere to get the pins for the factory harness? I don't mind making one, I just assumed the pins for the 10 pin connector are unobtanium at the moment, so I'd just buy one that exists and modify it. This is the 10 pin fully populated harness. I was going to buy this one but I think it s for HO though because it has (2) relays https://www.ebay.com/itm/406152753401

I'd like to add fog lights to my MJ in the most painless way. Yeah, I'll probably have to do solder repairs and splice repairs, but that's a matter of course with something of this age. I've been sifting through ebay and I've noticed there are many variants of the fog light harness, in true AMC fashion. some have 1 relay and 8 pins populated. some have 2 relays and 10 pins populated. some have 2 pin weatherpack connectors for the fog lights, some have weird square blocks with holes. Does anyone know which one works plug-and-play in the MJ? I have a base MJ and I'd like to add a fog light switch, maybe a switch for the rollbar lights. Also, if anyone here has a spare fog light harness they would like to sell,

Curious, the old script that handled the resizing, how was it implemented? Where was it hosted? Was it something like a python script that ran when a new image entered a queue to be hosted on the server? If it's possible to look at the current implementation and just modify it / fix it that would be the best option. Are there any forum backups to compare potential backend changes? @kook911 is right on the money. Claude, copilot and perplexity are incredibly competent at basic programming at this point in time, march 2026. I'd love to give a hand, maybe in a week or so when work calms down a bit. I hate the forced update methodology of forum software where you end up just shoveling money into a platform that never gets updated (cough, cough, vBulletin) I remember notebookreview and hardforum having tremendous amounts of trouble with vBulletin. interface never changed. no security updates ever. massive hack. Hardforum moved to XenForo and has had great success with it. I have no idea how expensive it is. I mainly have experience hosting personal websites on apache / ubuntu instances. I have not dealt with forum software yet. let me know how it goes.
