So, in general, things are looking up. Have you spoken with the doc about the tremors? You never know, there may be something you can do for those, exercise or diet. Good luck.

Or it may have insulation with a poorer ability to withstand temperature, and end up causing you problems when it degrades.

Will the Aries 1043 Brush Guard fit on an 89 Manche?

That was my guess. Curious what it might have been. -
Will the Aries 1043 Brush Guard fit on an 89 Manche?
BeatCJ replied to BoxoKnox's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
According to Aries Website it fits the '89 Cherokee except Limited. The don't show ANY grille guards fitting the Comanche, but I don't think there are any differences. https://www.ariesautomotive.com/part/1043 I suspect you have a computer jockey that doesn't know cars making that determination. -
New clutch won't fully disengage
BeatCJ replied to Manche757's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Ok, then you can probably handle it. I'm used to everyone at work being half my age, or younger. And there is a fair crop on this board that I have been on my SECOND career since before they were born! -
New clutch won't fully disengage

The master cylinder needs bled, then the clutch slave needs bled. The shop did it in a hurry, and that just doesn't work. I'm sure you spent enough that it should be right, I would take it back and have them bleed it again. But at almost 60, I may do grumpy better than you. 😂 -
If you can't get use of your oven for "greasy car parts", you can use a heat gun blowing on the bearing. Just make sure you have it on a non-flammable surface. You can get quite a bit more expansion from heating than you can get contraction from cooling, so it an important step.

Do you know about their blue label program?

It's very likely it's behind a motor home. Of course, most of those only have enough braking for the house, adding 3500 lbs can make that sketchy.

Thanks. I'm thankful to find this helpful community, for the health of my family and friends, and a place where I can work every day. Happy Thanksgiving to all.

I'm an Aficionado with just over 200, I see Swampy is a Comanche Addict with over 800 posts.

My first car was a mini truck, a red 1973 Chevy LUV. This is that, but better. I wanted one when they came out, but I was poor and raising kids, as a kid. It's a good truck, better in many ways than the competition at the time. I have loved Jeeps since I remember riding in my grandpa's 1947 Willys farm car, in about 1966. I doubt I will have more than one, there are too many other things I want.

Custom leaf springs - spring-under with a Ford 8.8
BeatCJ replied to Jeepzahn's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
There are a couple of places in Portland, Oregon. One of them will make custom springs, Benz Spring. Looks like they are actually in Salem, now, www.Benzspring.com Like gogmorgo says, shipping will be pretty high. But not as bad as crossing the border. -
Well, yes and no. Studs actually decrease your traction on wet or dry pavement. For ice, there is nothing better.

I may have try to put Moab 2022 on my calendar. It's only a 16 hour drive. Boise - Twin Falls the first night, then just another day.

I'm right there with you, except buried in the garage out of the rain, behind the travel trailer. Life is all about choices.

Fixing Water Leaks into the cab
BeatCJ replied to BeatCJ's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
My windshield needs replaced, has a crack from roof to cowl. Interesting thought on doing the prep work myself. If there was rust in the seal area it would be nice to clean all that up. I doubt it does, though, everything else is rust free. I know I won't be going back to carpet. I think I will be going the Lizardskin route, with a Bedliner top coat. -
What are they worth? CL has one.a couple hours drive away from me. https://corvallis.craigslist.org/pts/d/lebanon-1989-jeep-xj-header-panel/7228378138.html

41 Hours... And right at the start of my busy season. All these events are just at the wrong time of year, that whole responsibility thing and all.

I know it's not apples to apples, but I have had good luck with the Aussie in my AMC 20 in my CJ-5.

So I could add Sportruck graphics to mine, and not be faking it too much? I noticed on my build sheet it lists no stripes, like it was a choice.

OM617 swap
BeatCJ replied to Medicwithamanche's topic in MJ Hardcore Tech: Epic Journeys to Greatness
Last time I looked, Davey's Jeeps had the external slave bellhousing listed for sale on their site. A little spendy as I remember, but they are a relatively limited supply part.
