I spent 4 lonely days in a brown LA haze

And soon it will render...

Yes, but some people have accounts newer than yours, too. So don't let it get to you. I may have some socks older than you. Until my wife finds them.

I have several "Employees" that age, right now two in high school. I find it really amusing to listen to the different points of view. And the look on their faces when they realize I've been doing this twice as long as they have been alive tickles me.

I have mild Raynaud's too. I think it's probably mild because my BP meds help treat it. Only my toes are affected, so I wear wool socks pretty much year round. I end up with sores on the end of them due to the lack of circulation. One of my daughters got it from me, she gets the white digits.

Ahhh, good catch!

Still makes it likely they won't see a post here.

Last post was in August 2011...

My big Skil 9" grinder has done more damage to me, but with a wire wheel. It got traction, ripped the grinder out of my hands, and brushed a 1/2" wide, 1/2" deep groove about 3" long across the top of my thigh before the trigger opened up. But 0.040 discs scare me more.

I tried the Lennox version, I wasn't really impressed. It was slower than an abrasive disc, and didn't last as long as I expected. OTOH, I didn't worry about one of my son's buddies blowing it up in their face, with no safety glasses or face shield, after they have pulled the guard. How do you think it works as compared to abrasives, and what brand of those did you use?

I like the Novak Knowledge Base for the answer to the second question: https://www.novak-adapt.com/knowledge/transmissions/manual/ax15/ "The factory manuals call for 75W90 GL-3 gear oil for the AX15 transmission. This fluid is essentially obsolete; superseded by GL4, then GL5. However, many GL5 fluids have friction modifiers that are not compatible with synchronizers, so make sure to check for compatibility. It is the experience of some that a 50W fluid provides quicker shifts and especially so in colder climates." Valvoline makes a Syncromesh fluid that meets the GL-4 spec. I don't think a synthetic is necessary in a manual transmission, I think the gear oil should be changed before regular lube goes bad.

Too many unknowns to even estimate what it's worth. But, for me, it's close enough to look into. I drove 4 hours to look at mine, not running but cranked, but there were photos of the intact floor pans in the ad. Paid for it, drove 8 hours to pick it up...

I really like those wheels. What are they from? Edit: Disregard, I found a set on Craigslist, hopefully they are still available next weekend, they are to far to look at after work.

Oh yeah. 32 years ago I was cutting brush with a machete at work, hit a rotten spot, and the machete went.through with no resistance. Tore muscles where the upper muscle group and lower muscle group came together. Usually when I have problems now, I overdue things, tighten up, THEN do something stupid. And I have been fighting kidney stones for the last two years. Really ready for that to get figured out...

That's the way I felt when CJOffroad went away. Sure miss that Forum.

BeatCJ messes up a 1987 Comanche

Yup. At least the pumping toilet doesn't have to go far, the sanitary drain is right on the other side of the wall. Just 8' up. Walkaway basement... Lack of trust, it's my house, and I suspect if I just turned them loose, things would get done fast, maybe even half fast... -

It's not. I have it parked in my garage, out of the rain until I can get the windshield and gasket replaced, the window track and wipers replaced, and can start hunting leaks. I ordered the kit from OC Carpets and the window track is backordered. I also have a bathroom I need to get installed in my basement, and for some reason (daughter and her boyfriend living down there) my wife thinks that's a priority. I figure I should be back working on it in February. I have a sub panel to wire, plumbing to run, shower, vanity, sink and a pump toilet to get installed. Add work, with 1/3 of my full time staff out with COVID things are a bit busy. I've covered several sick shifts myself the last couple of months. -
Well, since he hasn't logged on since Jan 2011, I suspect an update won't be coming soon.
