  1. I get that, but from what I am seeing, too often, new replacement parts don't last as long as some of the earlier parts.
  2. I would think using AN adapters and a braided line would work, too.
  3. So, to go from my BA10/5 in my '87, I am going to have to change the master cylinder when I go to an external slave cylinder? I need to rebuild the transmission first, and was planning on doing research before I did the swap, but what the heck, may as well start now. Or let you do it...

You must get a monthly allotment? Just remember, if you sell stockpile, you may never be able to replace it... I work with some LE guys, their stockpiles are amazing.

You could contact an Authorized Service center, they should be able to figure out what it is. Northridge 4x4 7976 Rubicon Trail Place NW Silverdale, WA 98383 360-340-0282 Warn parts are almost all available. If you decide not to mess with it, I might be interested, I am close to their headquarters.
  6. Nah, build yourself a teardrop. That's what I am planning with my current 2wd front axle, when I get my Dana 30 swapped in. You have plenty of time, if you start now.
  7. I can't disagree, butt some credit for the work would be nice. Also, while that may be the take of some people, you never know what the Jeepology people might say. But, no pressure, I agree with Jesse, be true to thineself.
  8. If it has a title, it MIGHT be an OK truck to build from, for $500. Maybe more if the floors are solid.
  9. Verde With beans or without
  10. Woo Hoo, just got news from OC Carpets that my door seal kit shipped.
  11. So, don't threaten to sue, ask them for a small license fee. Seems like it would be easy enough to ask, and be willing to take a pittance. 25ยข A shirt would add up.
  12. There were couple on the morning news here last week.
  13. No, no, no... I got a great deal on the the.Comanche, and for a little more I had.an opportunity to buy some premium parts. You need to learn to spin these things now, or you'll never be allowed to board cool stuff.

A winch is a fantastic tool. It makes skinning a whole elk much easier. Wanna stretch field fence? A snap. We have 4 of them on work trucks, we use them all the time. 8000 lbs is plenty on a Comanche. I like rope, but steel cable is so much more durable. The main weakness in cable is the safety thing, it's a giant rubber band. Use it correctly, and it's manageable. I personally think you are better off rebuilding the Warn you already have, instead of buying new. Most of the budget brands give up speed to gain pulling power.
  15. I like that. I had.to install mine in a hurry, so I used free 16" tiles. I always have said when I get some spare time I wanted to redo it like you are doing.
  16. That's quite a sweater.
  17. I was.just thinking that. I was hoping to get my son's Cherokee going for him, needs new wiper linkage and motor, and to figure out the heater motor issues. Just don't have time right now, might have to let him drive my Comanche. I just bought a set of 265/75R16 Nokia's.
  18. Any thought about a T177? Bolts up stock to the 258 and D300, shorter than every 5 speed, tougher than a T-5, simple.to build, works great until you want to travel at Interstate speeds. Swap it in, then if you decide to go to a V8, you still have enough transmission.
  19. You're right, you shouldn't worry. But Pete's right, too, there is a LOT you can do. In my career, back injuries are the #1 cause of disability retirement. But I have NEVER hurt my back on the job, since changing careers at 38, even doing some amazing things. It's all about keeping in shape, stretching and planning your work.
  20. It's better than the alternative. I always say any day above ground and vertical is a good day. Pain is just the weakness leaving your body...
  21. Totally on purpose. I installed cable for 4 years starting in 1979, I had to really work hard to resist the temptations that were presented.
  22. I like most of his stuff, but yes, that makes the top 3.
  23. https://portland.craigslist.org/clk/cto/d/vancouver-clean-jeep-comanche/7245184514.html One of the other photo shows the OEM 4x4 block parking chock. Looks pretty nice in the pics.
  24. And IMHO, 35's don't make a good DD on a truck this size. I had them on my '87 F-350, but that had about 3000 more lbs, more wheelbase and width. For a daily, 33x10.50 KOs are good, but 31's are perfect. If you are going to use a non-Comanche Bed, then a Ute style trayback would be my choice. I would probably have less overhang, and the ladder rack is meh, but I think they have a lot of utility and can look pretty decent. HiLux Ute Trayback.jfif What the heck is a .jfif? The rack on this is actually a canvas canopy kit, and would be cool, but still shows what I mean.
  25. Pah. Drive it. Other than to a bunch (truly, only a relative few) of people that cherish them, it's just a truck. If you have a blue sky day truck, no reason NOT to have a DD truck.
