    Mine had sat for a long time, it needed a fuel pump. The new one lasted a month or so. I hadn't cleaned the tank well, and it plugged up with accumulated sediment. I ended up putting enough white vinegar to cover the bottom, soaking it for a couple of days. Then I cleaned that out, and added a couple of handfuls of clean sharp gravel, and with a few buddies, shook that around for about 10 minutes. Got the coat of crud out. Someday the tank will probably rust out, but I'll deal with that in 20 years.

    FWIW, '92s are the least common. Easy for someone that doesn't own it to say keep it mostly original. What's it need? Besides more photos posted here...

  9. Springs always have tradeoffs. Higher capacity (Metric Ton, Big Ton) have to be stiffer than lower capacity springs. So what is important to you?

  11. Nope, part of the reason I have chosen to live where I do. Actually, road departments here started chemical treatments about 20 years ago. It became necessary to do more with fewer people, so they started experimenting. Most do ice pretreatment with liquids, and in my area, they are adding salt to the sand. Part of that is also that they had to limit the use of sand, because of salmon species being placed on the ESA.
  12. Beltline (or belt rail) moldings are the seal on the door where that your window glass slides down through. On my truck, they are brittle, broken and missing pieces. They might keep water out of my doors if they were flexible. I got new ones in a kit from OC Auto Carpets. I was responding to Mr. Beast, but your post popped in between.

  19. I'm going to guess that long term, you won't be happy with the results. The paint is pretty soft. But as a short term fix, it will make it black. Finding a black parts, and a new home for your chrome stuff will give you a better long term outcome. Patience, grasshopper.
  20. I'm going to guess that the total cost of replacing a cam is far more than $60.
  21. I think the diesel truck oils have enough zero with an additive. Seems like Rotella, Delvac and Delo oils are good enough for both break in and long term use. It's all a trade off, I don't mind replacing a cat at 75,000 to save my cam.
