  1. Can you replace each piece one or two at a time?
  2. Any idea of what brought it on? How does the younger generation avoid it, cause it sure does NOT sound fun!
  3. Are these reproduction mud flap brackets galvanized or just bare steel? I just picked up a set of MJ specific mud flaps today off a truck in a yard. They need new brackets, but the rubber flaps will work just fine. I washed them up, right away. For those who don’t know, here is what they look like. The AMC logo should be white, as well as the Jeep logo. Here is a pic of a front one that I have that still has all of its white paint intact, next to a plastic one of later years that as best I can tell was not painted. I believe the flap that Pete has on his wall art is a plastic flap, correct me if I’m wrong Pete?
  4. A nice rig for sure!
  5. Lots of painful work right there, looking very good!
  6. PM sent - Thanks!

    Preheat tube

Just saw this the other day... https://www.ebay.com/itm/1987-1990-Jeep-Cherokee-Comanche-4-0L-Renix-intake-preheat-tube/302674760890?hash=item4678d254ba:g:cY4AAOSwdGJarhQ6:rk:8:pf:0
  8. Yes, low budget is creative AND fun! Now that it’s February, it’s time to think about continuing to resurrect the Ferd. Fuel filter and transmission flush are the first items to address before the snow is gone. I sold quite a bit of firewood this winter and my number one need for the truck right away this spring will be to start cutting hauling and stacking for selling next season. Current state, resting peacefully.
  9. Agreed! The fact that his truck actually exists plays a huge part in this. The Camo MJ or the American Flag MJ, while both unique in their own rights don’t exist (or if they do no one knows them as well) nor do they hold a candle to Don’s MJ for representation of what this club is all about in my opinion. Don’s truck was clearly owned by an MJ enthusiast. Can’t touch the plain Red MJ version, I feel that one fills a much needed “my truck is stock and I love it the way it is” or “I just got the truck and I’m saving up to build it into what I want” roles.

    Merry Christmas

    Merry Christmas All!
  11. Thanks for the info Eagle. All the best to you Don, get well soon!
  12. Well, the big truck stalled out in traffic on me on account of summer gas still in the tank and a frozen fuel filter. I pushed it to the side of the road and got a short tow from a stranger to a gas station. Rather than attempt to fix it at the station I called on my wife and the MJ to get the heap home. Stuck to the backroads with as small of hills as we could find, made it home no sweat. I will say that the MJ did not enjoy tugging this heavy thing around though :)
  13. How big of a shop Ben? Make sure you have the drain plugs pulled out of the floor of the buggy, otherwise I feel you’ll have a bathtub full of water in the buggy in the spring!
  14. That ‘92 came with a visor. I see you’ve already removed it. Should be able to pull some sweet cash out of that if you don’t want it... Yes, life changes do take away from wrenching time, two young kids here as well...
  15. Yes, I do have one, sending you a PM.
  16. I think I have one. Let me verify tonight.
  17. Price seems high. To me, a $9K MJ should be a highly modified off-road rig with some high end parts or a low mileage truck that is completely stock, show truck quality. This truck is neither, for starters the wheels and rear bumper are aftermarket parts. Radio and speakers are not stock, neither is the center console ON the bench seat. It looks nice for sure but that’s a $3K-$5K truck to me.
  18. Is a bare bones XJ or what package/options does it have?
  19. I like the sticker on the top of your toolbox. Whats the plans for the “new” truck?
  20. ... and that’s well worth $50!
  21. So what parts did you nab?
  22. Man, I could use either one of those! What a deal!

    New Old Member!

Wow, welcome back! Which engine? Manual or automatic?
  24. So that’s a 4wd... not 2wd. Good price on a great looking truck!
  25. You’ll be rolling right past Madison, WI. Heads up, the interstate has been under constant construction between Madison and Janesville for the last few years. Lots of lane changes and stuff to look at when you roll past. I’m not too far from the interstate, 30 min or so and I could help if you get in a pinch and need a hand. I’ll PM you my cell. Have fun!
