1986 Jeep Comanche 2.5L / ? / ? / D30 / D35 / LWB Build date: ? Current location: Fredonia, WI Status: JUNKYARD Notes: Had a plow on it at one point. Red paint, Burgundy interior, black vinyl bench (great shape). 58K on the clock, was joyridden for one of its last rides. Rear bumper still there but it is mangled. Tailgate there. I cut the rockers and cab corners off of it a few years ago because they were in in really good shape. Engine, trans and tcase removed from it. No accidents that I can see, in the classics side of the yard so it should be there awhile... nice FULL cluster in it too. Might go back and get the cluster and bench someday... 1992 Jeep Comanche 4.0 / AX-15 / NP 231 / D30 / D35 / LWB Build Date: ? Current Location: Fredonia, WI Status: Junkyard, “X” on windshield, about to be crushed. Notes: All parts worth picking are gone. Tail lights, rear bumper, gas tank, HO items from engine, rear slider are all removed. Bed, rockers and cab corners are shot. Over 200K miles, I moved the speedo cluster and center console to another Jeep in case it does get crushed. Neither part in great shape, but they were there. Gray interior. Hit hard in the front, t-boned a telephone pole. Current owner: APR (Auto Parts & Recycling)
  4. Looks like a base trim truck to me. Both of mine were that way when I got them.

    Dust Cap

Wow. What could have damaged it that much!?!?

    Dust Cap

I specifically looked for a part number on it and it did not have one on there. I recall when I got them that I took my old one(s) in and used them to select the new ones from what was available. These have been working well for me for at least 6 years now. When you get the new one, I’d take everything apart and repack that wheel bearing. With it being exposed like it has been you don’t know what you’ll find inside there. Cheap insurance. You’ll need to get a new seal for the backside of the rotor to take it all apart, an inexpensive part. Clean all the bearings up with paint thinner or the de-greaser of your choice. Dry them out by spinning them in a towel and with air, then re-assemble. Spindle nut is a 27 mm. These front wheel bearings are SO simple (and cheap) to do, I wish that I had more vehicles built like this. Also gives you a good chance to make sure your brake caliper slides are free of rust and properly functioning... I really took my time on the one side I disassembled yesterday and it took me 3 hours from the start of the jack stand placement to finishing putting my tools all away. I’ve been this far into it before so everything was nice and free to come apart from the last time still. Other side gets done next weekend hopefully.

    Dust Cap

Just did my front brakes on my 2wd ‘90 this weekend and I had to pop the ones I have off and back on for the job. I remember getting them from NAPA years ago when I last replaced the brake rotors as the dust caps that came on the truck were dented up badly from taking the wheels off and putting them back on. I took a few pics of the one side for you, if the pics help you any...

CC is stand alone, no twitter needed here.
  9. This is dangerous. How about a “Metric Ton” badge? Do you need originals to scan or do you have the ability to make totally customized emblems? Just wondering, this is really cool!
  10. How did you find out about this? This is an excellent find!
  11. Yes, it was good to see all of you as well! The kids had a great time as well. My oldest now knows that there is a difference between the "Pete" I know and "Pete the Cat" who she knows Or - maybe there are more similarities than differences between the two of them....
  12. I have 8 turbines, they have all been used for many miles. Each of them is in a different class of “niceness”. (4 are painted black) I can bring one tomorrow for you. How nice of one are you needing?
  13. Back in the day, www.luvtruck.com was my Comancheclub... the site hasn’t changed much over all these years! My photos are still all there: http://www.luvtruck.com/Gallery/BrentMarshs78ReedCityMichi/index.html To think that I got 3 speeding tickets in THAT truck that would NOT do 70 mph on the freeway is mind boggling to me today :)
  14. THIS brings back memories. I had a 1978 Chevy Luv as my first vehicle many years ago. Mine was also a “Mikado”, which was the upscale package. Ahhh the cheap Japanese steel rusted so easily on that truck. Dad and I put a lot of time into making it look good. Good old days...
  15. Lol, Time to build a wall!!!
  16. I’m curious. Why move the gas tank further back and put it between the bumper and the rear axle?
  17. Soooo much like here!
  18. Only the ones that you see on half off days and know that us guys here in the Midwest would love to get. - Bolt strips for the fender flares - Rear bumpers / bumper end caps - Tailgates - Ebrake cables - Fuel sending units etc. ...Rust free short beds
  19. Glad to hear all is going well! If you see good deals on easy to pull rust free parts out west, get them and bring them along with you. Us Midwest folks will make it worth your while!
  20. Hello All, I’m starting a thread here for a truck I recently acquired for my Brother to use. I bought it here on the club from “mkusmc”. The truck is currently at my my house in Wisconsin under my care for a short duration until I’m able to get it to my brother for his use in Michigan. I hope to address some issues it has before he gets it, but we’ll see if he gets it before I have the chance to pick away at the things it needs. 2.5L - 5 spd - 4wd - 30/35 - Somewhat well optioned (with non-working factory A/C). 258K miles. Originally purchased in Tulsa OK, looks like it spent most of its life in that area judging by receipts in the glove box. It runs, but it needs attention in plenty of areas before it’s road worthy. It drove itself on/off the trailer, which is a better way to start than some vehicles I’ve winched on and then drug off. Here are some pictures of the condition that it came to our family in, enjoy!
  21. Spectra Premium replacement tanks are in both of my MJs. Good tanks! One I bought on RockAuto, the other came from eBay as it had a dent in it, but it was still new. Both tanks got a liberal soaking with brake clean to remove storage grease on the outside, scuff with an abrasive pad and primed and painted before they went into the trucks. Treating me well still on both accounts. Yeah, I would not be using that tank if I were you...

    For you KJ guys

    Correction, west of Madison.
  23. I’ve taken those screws out and not re- installed them to totally negate the issue. Have not noticed a difference with them out.
  24. Ok CC, obviously a dual ended socket for something, but WHAT, and there has to be a reason why it’s so long...?
  25. Are you looking for used, new, any and all? I do have a used set that I might be able to be persuaded to part with.
