  1. Ok good. If that pilot bearing isn't seated where it needs to be, the pressure plate can not push the clutch disk back enough to disengage.
  2. I have not. I have only had the factory, napa and crown master. Lux brand clutch kits with slaves, which felt like a hit or miss for me and this current one is crown. I avoid dorman parts at all cost. They are the great value brand of auto parts. Course they do make that windshield wiper transmission bushing kit. But that's being said, All aftermarket parts are a hit or miss. Mopar or AMC is the way to go...but those parts have been long discontinued. So if these two brands aren't working out, then you may have to dump some money... I just thought about this. Did you by any chance change the pilot bearing in the center of the flywheel?
  3. Yeah I currently have both crown slave and master and I'm pleased with them. I had a napa one after the factory master failed and it sucked. can't say the hose will always be the problem but it can. The flexible rubber end is so damn near close to the hot exhaust and engine that it can be a culprit.
  4. I can almost bet it was as equivalent to bumper and radio delete. It probably was a factory thing to make the money saving packages. Or dealers did it and turned a profit on AMC/Jeep rims. can't really say. Mine is the only Jeep aside from CJ's to have a set of those trailer rims.
  5. I fight these issues from time to time. Its complete crap. I had to replace the master and slave on mine. I went through this issue. I knew the slave was bad as it leaked worse than a colander but I digress. I replaced the master and bled and bled and bled and still had craptastic shifting and played musical master cylinders till I got a crown cylinder and have been pleased with it. Then the slave finally gave up and swapped it in a new one. It generally is a good rule around here to replace the three components to the clutch system including the hose. So far shifting for me has been good to me. Also try starting the truck with it in first gear and pedal to the floor and see what happens.
  6. Holy Crap!! I didn't realize your truck had those factory trailer rims too! That's what I get for looking on the phone. Same exact set I had on LR and I can't find any evidence other than early pictures where they are painted and looked like a propane grill. I also suppose that my current rim set has a story. I was at goodwill and I found one of those five spoke rims with Jeep stamped in it and I swear that rim had never ever seen road use it was so damn new looking. Then after acquiring that one I went to AMC salvage a week later and they had a full set. Paid a hundred for the set.
  7. Chrysler trying to get their bearings on what to do with Jeep.
  8. Well there’s a drop in liner and a unique pioneer and 4x4 decal that I can’t find for the 91-92 years in the catalogue. Never mind. Found the pioneer decals
  9. I bought a 96 and down head light harness and harvested a prong from it and joined the hella light harness with it and hooked it up to my headlight harness using the factory prong and it looks like a clean factory install for my driving lights.
  10. I have no absolute clue. A lot of the build sheets prior to 89 are a crap shoot. It is possible that's what it is but your picture looks blue. You're welcome! And welcome to the addiction as Pete always says!
  11. Looks like everything is still together. That is actually the starter relay. I guess it could be a PDC as well, never really thought about that but it is grouped with the relay center so it is a relay. Damn. Beat to the punch
  12. Lol. I happen to have the parts catalogue up from earlier.

  16. Well lets think about it a second. Sometimes sitting and looking at the engine bay helps(with me at least). So how does she run? Idle? Under load? If everything is smooth and as it should be like she left the factory and just trying to start up again is a drag, I would look at the coil. Buy a cheap one and throw it in there and give a whirl. If it solves your hot start then you got it. If not then you are back to a sensor problem like you are saying.
  17. Ok, after a couple years of perusing the forum in my boredom I came across a post. Some one said that the coil with age is prone to getting hot and causing start issues. How old is the coil? Is it the factory one?
  18. Lol that would be me if I ever saw one come here at work.
  19. Stroke of luck right there. And as for the techs at dealers, they love the old unique cars. Anytime I have something done to my truck here at work which is very rare, all the techs usually surround LR and talk about history with the Comanche. One of the techs here owned an eliminator with 2.5L 4x4 Colorado red and he said he loved that truck. He regrets getting rid of it. He even mentioned the infamous drivers side door sag and gave me hell of a tip on how to fix that issue without taking anything apart.
  20. I’m glad you enjoy it! I find my self going back from time to time and rereading. Wish I had some pictures from when I first got her. I’ll need to do some digging. My grandfather would tell me how he used to throw a little boat in the bed and head up to lake pleasant and go fishing. Which is probably how the original tailgate got screwed up. Id like to say that these trucks have a tendency to make women jealous.
  21. You know. I don’t have very many stories to share sadly. I little ones but that’s it. First is my grandfather had Little Red for god who knows how long. I remember one day when I was 15 helping him revive it but the pump was bad. Fast forward to three years ago I wrecked an 05 Taurus while in my accord. So I wanted a truck and got Little Red and the rest of the story is on my build. Year later yer I was driving on the 101 and I blew the transmission. Another member who I have yet to meet on here told me to get on Comanche club after he saw I was pulled to the side of the freeway finding out what the hell happened. He was a nice guy, had a short bed with a canvas bed cover. I believe it was blue with a 4.0. Recently out of spite there was a AZ 4x4 club meet at this ice cream shop. So I went with my girlfriend and sister and found this out. So I quickly drove us home and I hopped in LR and went to the ice cream place and my sister and girl followed behind. Course it was all JK guys but I liked being the only real Jeep at that meet. Otherwise LR has lived a boring life in my hands. Other than driving three hours to Heber.
  22. Noted. I can pressure wash my bench if someone ever spills anything on it.
