I have all the parts books from 84-88 but nothing newer. The electronic catalog has everything from 84-now. Some parts still show up like really old battery numbers.
-
Well I come to yall with some bizarre info on part numbers, if you care or not. Recently I have come across an issue when looking up parts, I am seeing more and more Jeep parts from the 80's (not sure about other Chrysler cars) come up as "Part number not found" in both the catalog and in parts inquiry. So if you ask me or any of the other dealer guys to look up a part and it comes back as part number not found, its Chrysler doing something weird. Speculation is merging with PSA, others is that its Chrysler purging old numbers(not sure why they would do this) but I figured I would inform you guys about this debacle that I've been noticing.

MS-1700 is the original AMC tool used to read and get codes. There was an adapter that specifically read the 2.5L ECU that plugged into the MS-1700.

Could be bad right out of the box. The entire horn system relies on grounding out at the column shaft. I would check the relay and try testing the wiring for shorts or open circuits.
-
What does the relay look like? Some of those OEM style aftermarket ones ive had go bad on one blow of the horn. Ive found that the Napa replacement and ones that can be nabbed from a junkyard tend to work better. I wonder what the true issue is if everything has shiny new parts.

Be warry. These TJ unlimiteds as bone stock are going up on value.

That could explain why the doors don't say "COMANCHE CHEIF" On them. -
Could be a swap 10 slot would narrow it between a 86-87 unless swapped, same with the name plates and yes Laredos were 87-92.
-
Are you sure your truck is a 91? It has a lot of indicators that would make it an 86.

Exhaust to air box hose.

Yeah i went and looked at my spare manifold and saw the same thing. I’ll just leave the hose alone and not think much about it. ‘‘Twas a part I never really looked at till the hose ripped. -

Socal and I have been going back and forth on this. So far I’m probably wrong and my hand was playing tricks on me as I stuck my hand by the hose to see if I could feel anything and I thought I did but I probably didn’t. I have a spare manifold I’m going to look at tomorrow and see. I'm probably thinking about how older cars recycle the fumes from the valve cover to the air intake. -

Did you have to use any clamps to help hold the hose on or no? -

Yes that hose. I don’t think the vac system for my pre heater works but nonetheless it’s still putting out fumes rather than recycle back into the intake. -
Alright everyone. At the drive in and noticed a rich smell to charge up the battery for the next film. Poked under the hood and found that my exhaust to air box hose is ripped right at the exhaust pipe. Have any of y’all run into this issue and what did you do to fix/replace? Side note, if anyone has a spare one PM me.

Any of the door seals, improperly sealed windshield or something around the fresh air door for the HVAC -
Actually if everything is still intact and operates as it should, it should all work via the signal stalk.
-
Nope, not kidding. Kinda took up as the knowledgeable one for factory cruise.
-
Small yellow one is my favorite. Cruise control.
-
Thats your air box for the AC and heater core. The lower dash panel you took off should have the trans computer if you have an auto. Otherwise the ECU is on the drivers side under the dash above the gas pedal.(in your case its still attached to the dash)

If it wasnt such a task to take my door cards off I could show you. But it should be somewhere around there.
