  1. One way to overcome the harness problem is to get some hose that will fit snugly over the old hose and join the two ends together. Thats how I have done some of my vac repair work. Or youll have to go to a junk yard and find an XJ with AC and carefully get the harness out if you don't want to pull the dash.
  2. Does anyone ever wonder where No.1 is?
  3. How did you make that Hemi catalyst sticker?

  5. Usually the only way to get all the interior lights to come on was to turn the headlight knob all the way to the left until it *clicked*. Might have something wired funky somewhere.
  6. To add on to what Pete said, he is getting them reproduced but right now the numbers are incredibly low and so there is no definite time frame on when we will start seeing more full sets roll out. But @CoastChief who is reproducing them said the company he is working with on the moldings is short on the material to make them at the moment.
  7. Ought to be quick and easy work without trying to fight and remove those screws and risking damage to the nut/screw/firewall.
  8. Well the easiest way I have for this is: One, vice clamps to hold the thread while you loosen the nut or Two if you aren't removing the nuts to clean them up is to just remove the screws from your XJ box in the corresponding areas where the stuck screws are and just screw them into the airbox.
  9. Yup, nice and shiny Colorado red.
  10. I think and if I remember right, yours was built just before Chrysler did the switch to the AX15 so it would've had the BA. One of the last BA's too.

  12. Doing this pinout brings me to my idea of taking an idiot cluster and just making a décor piece of lighting up all the lights
  13. Like the back of the cluster or the harness side?
  14. All I can say is Chrysler changed the code of CR from AMC's BE to HE4 and I think Chryslers version of CR is a shade more vibrant than the AMC color but I am willing to bet though that the paint got darker with age. Actually if anything my floor boards looked exactly like what mine looks like now on the outside so I am not certain.
  15. Cool, just wanted confirmation on the color code.. I don't get how some 87-88's will pull a BE paint code but others(like mine) won't.
  16. Thats pretty funny and a modern vehicle without cruise is a first. There was a time when I was running parts before moving in and no one wanted to drive the Promaster City we had, so I drove the hell out of that thing, boss called it my shaggin wagon. Wasnt practical for parts deliveries though.
  17. My boss does for our parts trucks. I can't say they are Tradesmans though for how basic they are with a 3.6L. I think the only absolute thing they have that I would consider fancy is cruise control and that's probably because that function is integrated into the ECU.
  18. You can get a dodge truck with window cranks, manual adjust mirrors and a key with no fob and a basic screen radio with no bluetooth or anything of that fancy nature.
  19. Aside from the hood, does it have any remnants of being Colorado red anywhere?
  20. Looks like the same mess chunk has.
  21. I have seen a VIN plate on the crossmember under the radiator (or by) in an 89 4.0L 2 door XJ.
  22. Those brackets probably will fit an 86. Course the pert number doesn't exist anymore so I can't see the years but in 87 AMC went to the more solid bracket set up for AC.
  23. I think and judging by the early accessory part number, this would fit either the 2.5L carb engine or a 2.8L. Theres still a couple NOS AC kits at dealers but they are still very much expensive.
