Best bet for any AC installation on these trucks is to sit back, read a few posts and DIY's on it until you are comfortable to do the job yourself and then source the parts. Once all sourced, install yourself and once done, have a shop vac test it and charge the system for you. In the long run, it won't cost you $3k to do it yourself.

When you say terminal slots are you referring to the plastic housing itself or are you talking about the actual terminals? I only ask because these boxes are rebuildable and is recommended to do that before trying to put in a new box.

I can only suspect the reason for the build date and in service date are different because in Starparts there are part related things that are subject to cut offs, part changes, style changes etc. Dealerconnect shows in service dates for more of the guys in the service department and in sales. So chances are your VIN was completed the night of the 26th but wasnt declared in service until the next day. I would imagine they would inspections before saying the vehicle is ready.
