  1. That one according to the parts catalog is a superseded number from an 87-88 ECU which in turn fits all years from 87-90.
  2. Wow……Guess people don’t know how much this sensor cost but that is a smoking deal…bizarro I feel bad now.
  3. Bet not many of ya can say you robbed an AC unit for its blower assembly to throw in their garage for circulation. Also up next will be a new kitchen sink as I am about ready to throw the poorly installed and assembled sink out into the back yard. Which will end up being used as an outdoor sink for the outdoor kitchen.
  4. Maybe I have it wrong on the model number for the 700 series. Basically one is a 5 piston model and the other is a 7 piston. So the 709 is probably the replacement model for what you have.
  5. Sanden 508 or 708 compressor will do. You can always put power to the clutch of the Compressor and crank it and see how it feels in terms of its internals moving around
  6. You’re welcome!
  7. Oh shoot, must’ve missed you’re first response. So pulling the cluster out is easy. There’s four screws holding the dash bezel in place. Remove them and you’ll need to gingerly finagle the bezel out of its hole. once that’s removed, getting to the cluster will be cake. But to remove the speedo, you might have to either crawl underneath the dash or get the cluster maneuverable to where you can depress the metal retainer holding the speedo cable in.
  8. found me a new one.
  9. If I recall correctly, the running lights and instrument illumination are all tied into the same circuit.
  10. I didn’t even know there was an illumination relay. That being said do you have any other lights that don’t come on? Like interior or running lights? Do the indicator lights come on on the cluster? Like turn signal, brake light and high beams?
  11. Figuring out the numbers and other meticulous data for our MJs might be challenging since Jeep went through Chryslers hands during the MJ production and that flood in the basement didn’t help either. Isn’t there some sort of website or some sort of auto numbers specialty group that has the data? Like if someone wanted to know how many variants of their say 79 firebird with the 6.6L auto with AC and power steering was produced from the GM factory, they would be able to find that number.
  12. Interesting development.
  13. I have posted a question in the pub about my PC. It looks like my hard drive PCB has a failed capacitor, it seems like the hard drive does it’s initial boot but the BIOS will not detect it. Funny, the DOS type system on the board detects it but says the OS is missing and swapping to another PC or even putting windows 10 on another drive won’t see the hard drive. I suspect a failed PCB.
  14. My question is, does this look like a capacitor failure? Judging from pics I have seen of this board on the internet, it looks like a failure of some kind and it’s preventing my hard drive from being read. I ordered a donor board but I just want a second opinion.
  15. Nope! Did a buddies WJ the other day. Hated it.
  16. I swear I remember seeing a few things say “ABS” like the clock delete panel. But like AZ Jeff said, there aren’t and won’t be those plastic codes.
  17. Lol. Mine is usually about 30psi at idle during the heat. I’ll have to check now as I never really payed attention when I get home.
  18. 55psi at cold is healthy. That’s what mine runs at.
  19. Aren’t they all ABS pieces? I know some parts will say what plastic it is and part number and production dates and what not.
  20. Due to the nature in how I built my computer and given windows 10 being an unstable OS, my computer is down currently. I’ve been working on it since Monday to get it to read the OS from a BSOD. Currently looking at the boot screen right now with the little dots spinning in a circle(progress). I’ll update this thread as I get back up and running.
  21. I think only HO got that style of cluster. I think all AMC did was give us idiot lights with column shift.
  22. No problem. I don’t think anyone has HO swapped an auto Renix MJ
  23. It should bolt up with no issues at all. Butttttt you might run into issues with the 86 being an auto and the 2.5L being an HO era engine. Are you swapping the engine and engine management over or are you converting it to Renix?
  24. It varies. If it’s a late model 87 it probably will be closer to 88. If it’s an early it probably will be closer to that of 86 and prior. 87 is that middle ground year where AMC was doing changes and improvements to both the XJ and MJ. I probably need to update the top post to reflect this discretion.
