I can’t tell if this is a troll post or an actual plea for help…. Either way Jeeps from the AMC up until 96 just used a simple circuit for the indicator on the cluster. If the buckle wasn’t buckled the chime would go off until you either did so or about 10 seconds after putting the key in and into the run position. Now if you’re after the chime module it is either a black or blue box located on the left side of the fuse block closest to the e-brake lever.

I believe it. But this interior went straight from caramine red to crinkle chips. Luckily there’s two rear panels, not sure on the story on those sadly but I would bet my grandfather at least had some intentions to fix it. I told my wife the same thing. I knew exactly what I was getting in to with this car but she’s full on into getting this car on the road. And we went back to bandit today. I aired your the rear tires to a full 40psi, they’re holding for now. The car is also in the air as I wanted to get the front tires off. Also replaced the ignition cylinder with a GM one that came installed in Little Red back when I first got her, so it gets an OEM cylinder. Now I just have to reassemble the column. Engine still cranks good, makes good oil pressure too. About 50psi at cranking. That’s all we did today, slowly working on the barn to make it a good work space for both my car and my sisters.

Short bed to long bed

Hahaha. I think there’s some in the brochures from 86 too. Honestly what’s odd is after having thin white walls on my tires, I kinda don’t like the all black look. -
Yes you would need to. But I think you should be able to probe the fuse too just to see if there is power there. Chances are there probably is power there. If not then there’s something between the fuse block and the battery that’s not sending power to the head lamps. Speaking of power to head lamps, have you added one of those relay harnesses yet to your MJ?

Pete that one looks like it ought to fit in perfectly with the header. I’ll shoot you a PM when I can.

I just pulled a set on Monday that I’m gonna sell.

Turbines seem to be the quintessential look for any XJ or MJ. They stopped making the turbines in 90. Now I have the turbines on the XJ and they don’t look good, but they need white wall tires to look good on an XJ. For an MJ, straight black will look good or even a thing white wall line will help there too. I have the Jeep 5 spoke on my MJ and I like those, I grew up seeing those on every XJ and YJ I saw including the Jurassic park YJs. -

Not a common headrest. Usually found in the upper trims. Lol for the AC probably. I always thought the same thing when I’ve seen pics of them. I think folks out there are after them for that 80’s look. I haven’t seen many for sale so I can’t tell you what they have been going for. Probably could get $100 I’d imagine. -
I feel NOS would insult the rest of the parts on the header hahaha. I’m not looking for perfect as I just realized the grill is missing a small piece.

Love my long bed. Glad I’ve never had a short bed haha. Never failed me for loading a lot of crap. I can’t think of any downsides at all to owning one except if you’re going from short to long, you’ll need to be extra mindful of how much length you have now when backing out and parking. Other than that they’re just as fun as a short. -
That’s awesome! Happy to revive some memories for ya. I appreciate your help!

Thankd Pete. Let me know and schardein I just need the bezel for the headlamp and signal. I have the side marker surprisingly but couldn’t find the bezel anywhere near the Jeep.
-
Yeah that’s the one I’m referring to. The one that sits next to the grill and surrounds both headlamp and turn signal lamp and extends to the side marker. Unless you’re thinking of the side marker one or the retainer ring for the headlamp itself? Yup most folks do but that’s what I get for being in the parts department for so long haha.

Plain Jane XJ. Doesn’t have to be incredibly pristine but the XJ I pulled the whole header from was a gorgeous 89 Laredo and the chrome from what I can tell had hardly and issues.
-
Ahhh crap. Didn’t mean to read this post. I’ll get. A build sheet when I can.
-
Odd request I know but I found a header panel and it’s missing the drivers side headlamp bezel. Anywho I am after one to make the panel complete and I’m gonna be a stickler but it’s gotta be genuine AMC bezel. No crown or aftermarket please.
