Yup! I feel I should make a PSA for 86 unique parts.
-
I will call the dealer tomorrow to make sure they have it. If they do I will get it and shoot you a PM.
-
There shows to be 1 actually floating out there. Not sure in your location in the country but I see it’s at a dealer in TN
-
Actuallyyyyyy they aren’t. 84-86 only the AC equipped from the factory Jeeps have a unique to them resistor that has 5 prongs instead of the 4 for all the others.

Cruise control kit feeler.

I think I have enough parts for at least 5. Mostly because the vac footballs and speed sensor shortage. I’d have to check my counts. -
We’re getting there Pete! Carb is going to be torn down this evening and rebuilt over the next couple days. I smelled the gas tank last night out of curiosity and oddly enough I liked the smell. Not because it’s gas(don’t do fumes kids) but because it didn’t smell like the t-bird gas tank when I dropped that. I think my grandfather left the cap on the filler neck loose and so the gas vented out. Granted who is to say that the tank isn’t tarnished but I might take the risk to put gas in it and see if the pump still pumps gas to the carb.

No problem and I can’t say I have ever seen the two colors together. I’m surprised it’s not charcoal or a tan to not have the interior blend in. But hey it surprisingly looks good.

Shortbed Rollbar Lyman Maine
eaglescout526 replied to jpnjake's topic in Craigslist/eBay... i.e. Not Your Stuff
$500 for a roll bar that’s not even a factory one? Probably better taking it off and advertising it as a compact truck sport bar for $500. -
Cruise control kit feeler.

Lol funny you mentioned that. I only had one person install one of my kits and for the life of me and them we could not get it to work and we didn’t know why. -
Huh. Had I been working at a dealer prior to 2017, these could’ve still be ordered.

Just puttin a feeler out here. I made Renix cruise control kits a couple years back with used genuine parts/new trusted aftermarket parts. I have a plethora of parts now and I'm curious on how many people would be interested in a kit. If it’s one or two folks, I’ll do a couple kits and all the components will probably be sold off as this process is a bit of a pain as I hand build the vacuum harnesses new. It will be exactly like the kits AMC offered back in the day and instructions faithful to the original document is also included. Please comment here so I can gauge interest. Please tell your other Renix buddies that if they want cruise control for their MJ or XJ, now is the time as I probably won’t ever make these kits again. I should mention that I have plenty of 4.0L part for cruise. 2.5L brothers, i don't think I have any. It’s mostly the servo cable is mainly what the difference is.

I’ve done it. Granted I’ve shipped only one but to be honest shipping them is a hit or miss. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen UPS drop off rims from Chrysler and thanks to Chrysler being really cheap with packing material, they show up damaged 9/10 times. But that doesn’t mean the seller won’t package them well enough to prevent such. They could probably get a package deal from ups or FedEx to ship all 4 as identical packages for a decent price.

It has command-trac. So the 231

Here’s the before pics of the carb. I haven’t gotten farther other than the carb is just soaking right now in some simple green which is now simple brown. Good news is the main butterfly’s are now freely operating. Bad news is I gotta swap out the degreasing solution haha. And before I dunked this thing I removed the idle solenoid and the vac actuator to prevent damage to either.

GrandBoost98s Comanche

I did not know this for the YJ, that’s good info right there. Why thank you! I did my best to find out as much as I could and detail all I found out over the years. -

You can get a new box for power steering and the bracket for the power steering pump is the same between both the 2.5L and 4.0L. It’s just a matter of choosing which pump style to go with. The 4.0L on pump reservoir or the 2.5L remote reservoir. -

I could be wrong but I think those two loose wires are for the power steering pressure switch. Rather unfortunate that that plug is gone. -
