  1. Behind the grill is a decent spot
  2. I’ll post pics once it’s in its new work space haha.
  3. Those were my thoughts too. I haven’t had a chance to do anything with either panel yet. I’m hoping to do something soon at least but the XJ has captivated my attention recently and now the firebird has.
  4. Hahaha wouldn’t have though. Maybe I might replace the missing firebird logo on the horn button of my firebird.
  5. Heck yeah!!! So basically it runs, I had to assist it with some gas down the carb. Did this three times. First two were just to hear it run but couldnt get it to feed gas from the tank. Third time how ever, I got it to run on both the fuel pump and tank. I took a gamble and put 5 gallons of gas in the tank(fuel gauge is pegged, yeah yeah cruiser, I hear ya saying grounds haha). But not all the vac lines are hooked up due to some being disintegrated. So, I have some lines and I will be over on sunday repairing and replacing those lines to get it to idle. But holy hell does it sound healthy and beefy. This car I think is ready to rip up the road once again. But theres still more to do before it sees the road.
  6. No problem. Let me know if you want a set, or 10. Haha.
  7. Really? Now I’m gonna have to look for this now. I really never noticed. But it’s coming along great. What are ya gonna do with the AMC logo?
  8. It….. LIVESSSSS!!!!!!!!!
  9. How’s mount Lemmon treating ya?
  10. 82200313->82201490->82201650->82211405
  11. Mopar still sells wheel locks for our Jeeps.
  12. I have a full one but I think it’s good for parts. The temp gauge needle is broke.
  13. Someone was, life happened and they haven’t gotten back to it. And when they were making them, the brackets stopped production so that was another reason for them to stop. @CoastChief
  14. Bushings, replace all the worn out rubber bushings with new ones. Chances are theres not much rubber left if no one has replaced them in 30+ years. So the control arms, leaf springs, shackles, coil spring isolators, engine mounts, trans mounts. I think thats all.
  15. if this carb works out, I’ll come fix it haha
  16. I hope so too. I’m sure it will run decent and will just need some fine tuning. The only thing I didn’t touch was the mixture screws.
  17. Even has the full blue cluster. I can see these getting impounded back in the day when new but not in todays time. Unless it was stolen.
  18. It is finally back together safely and carefully. Now I have no absolute idea if it will work as it should, we shall see. My only concern now is the choke doesn’t fully close and feels loose but maybe that’s how it’s supposed to be since it covers the mains but can’t choke it off too much.
  19. Indeed they are. Granted the history on them is neat in of itself and how they started out as gravity fed devices and ultimately led to being vacuum based. And thank ya! It’s not my first carb to rebuild but it is my first quadrajet. So far I kinda like the Ford Autolite for its simplicity but I like the quadrajet for its lack of diaphragms and better use of all metal parts. Each company has their pros and cons to the carbs. That being said I should hopefully see the metering rods today as they’re scheduled to be delivered. Get the new rod in and hopefully finish assembling the carb. Fingers crossed I got it assembled right.
  20. I still haven’t gotten the NOS one yet….work has been busy. But if you take the one above I’ll still snag it for anyone in the future.
  21. I also learned an air hammer does fantastic work at getting under the spot weld spots and ripping up the rusted floor.
  22. Yup! Was using an air one. But now that I know this I might have to invest in one of those along with an angle grinder haha. I’ve got lots of tools to still buy. Right now it’s the front of the drivers, then the rear and then probably the entire passenger side in that order.
  23. Thanks. Having an anemic compressor doesn’t help much. Cactuscomanche told me to use some tin snips and that saved a lot of time haha. But welding that little section in is tough cause it also is a thin metal but all I have for right now.
