Poly Transmission mounts
MeanLemons replied to MeanLemons's topic in Vendors- members making products for MJs
A quick look at RockAuto showed no distinctation between 2wd and 4wd transmissions. Also showed same part numbers for both automatic and manual transmissions. i also checked for Renix years and it also showed that they used same mounts on the early AW4's AND Peugeot 5 speeds. Which I found a bit strange because some google research showed that Peugeot mounts were oddball type that were only used for same type. So I suppose we shall see. -
Poly Transmission mounts

I started building them when I needed a couple for my jeeps and everybody who saw them in my build thread liked them and started asking me to build them some mounts too. To the point I finalized the design and worked out pretty good on my rigs and few other test guinea pigs. The entire mount is clnstructed of two pieces; an upper piece (it has two holes that get bolted to the transmission), and a lower piece (it has 4 bolts welded to it for the crossmember). It takes common polyurethane bushing halves and a sleeve. The grade 8 hardware are included. So far I have two styles; an offset (91-99 XJs/ 91-92 MJs with 4.0L and a centered style (91-01 XJs with 2.5L, 00-01 XJs with 4.0L, and 91-92 MJs with 2.5L) I haven't verified if it also work for renixs yet. Haven't had time to look into it but you guys bet I ll get around to it. (Unless one of u guys know the verdict?) Nominal prices are $95 plus $13.60 shipping/handling. ($108.60 total) using USPS Medium flat rate boxes. Pictures coming in the next post.

front sway bar revisited
MeanLemons replied to thejum57's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
What I do is, to grind the torx heads off flush, then stack washers or cut a piece of pipe and put over the threads and use the nut & tighten it down and it ll pop off -
front sway bar revisited

Ah I'm betting the sleeve inside the rubber bushings are seized to the lower bolts? There's several ways to remove it. A favorite is using a BFH -
only if it's done as nice as you did the bay.

Very nice bay. I always get so excited every time I see you post pictures of your bay. Lol

Agreed. I personally prefer to piece together something than buying a "kit" from one place. I don't like the fact that somebody get to decide what I get. Piecing together something myself ensure I get exactly what I'm getting/paid for.

Yes. I'm wrong though. 3 renix clusters with the tach and one 84-86 cluster.

Rear Dana 44 axle tube to housing seals????
MeanLemons replied to hakukamana's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
That's the RTV that the factory applies to the axle tubes before they get pressed into the housing. -
I have four renix clusters. I plan to keep one for my truck. I may sell others

MeanLemons Battery Cables - Picture Request
MeanLemons replied to Zambeezy's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
On a HO MJ, especially with those that has the double stud lug on the PDC. You will need to remove two 60 amp fuses from the PDC, remove the cable from the double stud connection. And run the new cable from the alternator to the fuse holder, THEN, to the PDC. -
Rant: why the dissing on the MJ from MJ owners.
MeanLemons replied to WyoCherokee's topic in The Pub
No, dissing on Renix MJs is a common affliction among the envious souls who are forced to endure with the Chryco injected models.I'm a bit hung over this morning, so I'll not dignify this ridiculous post now with a rebuttal. But I'll get back to it this evening..... :rotfl2:all that chrome must have gotten to your head, LOL -

LOL. I owned a 88 pioneer MJ and a 91 eliminator MJ. Parted out the 91 and sold the shell. I still have the 88 renix. Along with multiple XJs over the years. The 88 MJ is MOST reliable jeep I ever owned next to my 99 XJ. -

I HEARD differently... in fact those with Highly Overrated jeeps usually diss on themselves & always keep kicking themselves for not getting a Renix. -
Updates are coming to the Comanche Club, what all would you like to see?
MeanLemons replied to Pete M's topic in The Pub
Photo uploading is only thing I can think of. Otherwise it's fine -
