  1. Good score! Keep it and run it.
  2. Yeah I guess I'm so spoiled by CherokeeForum apps. Lol
  3. Oh that's unfortunate... I hate Tapatalk :(
  4. Howdy everybody. Look like it's time to start a new build thread in the MJ section of the forum. That's something new for me. Ha. Before I start the introduction, I need to explain how I came to this point... In 2009 I started a money pit project; a BBQ smoker mounted on a trailer. After a couple of years, I lost motivation, (I didn't have time to constantly drive to my grandmother's house to work on the BBQ smoker, it was stowed in her garage). I already had my first jeep XJ which was lifted and all, I knew I needed another vehicle to daily drive, what's better than another XJ? That way I ll only need to keep stock of same parts instead of two different piles of parts. So I put the smoker up for barter on Craigslist. About two days later, I got a hit. A guy had a 2001 XJ with warped head that he didn't want anymore. We went ahead with the trade. This is the build thread for the silver 2001 XJ http://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/sil...roject-195354/ I replaced the head with a TUPY 0331, fixed few minor stuff and got it running, which was great because it had AC (it was summertime). By August I got bored of it, and wanted something different. So I sold it for $2,200. I wanted a 5 speed XJ, just because... I looked for about a month and found this gem... 1999 XJ with 4.0 and AX-15. I bought it for $500 and drove it home. Here's the build thread. http://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/jer...x-15-a-198800/ To recap what happened, I put in a 2.5 lift, slapped on some 31's, swapped the axles to get 3.55 ratio (HP30 and a XJ D44). Swapped the t case out to a NP242. Etc etc. I made a mistake that I still regret to this day... selling it. I sold it for $3,800 (I put in only $2000-including the purchase price of $500). Still a decent profit but I regret it nonetheless. I bought a purple 1998 XJ auto for $900. I thought I could flip it and sell it but that didn't happen unfortunately. It was a nightmare working on it. Lol. Eventually led to the diagnosis of bad piston rings in cylinder number 1 on the engine. Here's the build thread. http://www.cherokeeforum.com/f46/gri...e-haze-219593/ I wanted to get rid of it. I also wanted something completely different. I got really tired of XJs at that point. I'm about to move to a new house with a garage. I knew I would need a truck of some sorts but it should have a 4.0 so that way I can reduce the amount of parts to stockpile. And because I m used to working on it and I'm pretty familiar with it. I also usually haul stuff such as axles, and stuff. It's difficult to load the XJ lol. Here is where a MJ comes in. I knew I can't afford to buy one and I couldn't sell the purple XJ for a decent price either. So a trade is the only way. I keep asking various Craigslist postings to see if they were willing to trade. Some were willing, some weren't. One guy even tried to rip me off by jerking me around with vagueness and a$$hole-ness... anyway. One day I saw a posting that asked for $3000 for both MJs (one good running one and a parts one). I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. He agreed to the trade, so I drove the jeep over and took both trucks home. And that's how I ended up with TWO MJs! Who would have thought?? My bathroom poop break is over so I gotta go back to work. Ha. I STILL need to figure out how to post pictures here from the phone.
  5. Tug on the ground wires and see if it comes loose. Lol just kidding.
  6. I just installed them. Doesn't look like good quality but it works. Nearly broke both of them trying to install them and it is NOT that bright as I expected... but definitely brighter than stock. I had leds for my 98, 99, 99, and 01 XJs and they were absolutely brighter. Don't know if brands made a difference... they were samsung something.
  7. Don't bother doing a oil catch thingamajig, just do his tip and clean up the engine. U wouldn't have to worry about seeing oil all over
  8. If you need to replace the battery cables, send me a message, I ll love to help you out.
  9. what do you guys use to switch the tanks?
  10. Very nice! Now I need to find a full gauge cluster for my 88!
  11. Whoops I ll have to figure out how to attach pictures to this thread. Oh and if anyone want to see my customers' testimonials, here's a link to my sales thread on CherokeeForum... http://www.cherokeeforum.com/f73/upgraded-battery-cables-221513/ There's a lot of pictures on there as well.
  12. Hello everybody, please allow me to introduce myself, my name is Neal. I'm from west Chester, Pennsylvania. I love tinkering and working on stuff. I have had 5 97-01 XJs, 2 WJs, and now I recently acquired 2 MJs. Which is what led me here. Now about the battery cables. I made my very first set for my krawler about 5 years ago, (still working perfectly). Then my friends and people I wheeled with saw it wanted a set also. That's how I got into the business of making cables. It didn't really take off until January of this year after more and more people encouraged me to do it more formally. I was encouraged to start a sales thread here as well. So here I am. I make kits primarily out of 4 gauge and 2 gauge welding cables however I do custom sizes based on your requirements/preferences. I use adhesive lined heat shrink tubing, so when heat is applied, the tubing shrinks and the glue which is lined internally melts and fuses to the cable to completely ensure there's waterproof protection. I use a hydraulic 10 ton lug crimpers, none of those hammer crimping BS. That way I ensure there's perfect hexagonal crimps instead of deformed lugs caused by hammer blows. What else is included? You may ask. All of my kits include a fuseholder (of ANL variety) with two spare fuses, AND a set of military battery terminals. I don't like those marine style with wing nuts on top. They get loose too easily. However since they go on your jeep, you can get to decide what style of terminals to go with. If you don't want the military style, I will remove them and adjust the pricing accordingly. I always do red and black to easily identify the cables. However I have gotten requests for having entire set in black. That's up to you too, after all, it's your jeep. A 4 gauge kit (complete) cost $130 shipped to your door. The same kit in 2 gauge flavor will run you $170 shipped to your door. As I am a member of multiple forums along with accounts on Instagram, Facebook, and Craigslist, I cannot be at two places at same time, although I try to be. So with that said, truly best way to contact me would be emailing me directly at MeanLemons@gmail.com. Be sure to mention where you saw this. Thank you very much!
  13. Just ordered a set for the pioneer!
  14. Don't forget this write up as well :) http://www.cherokeeforum.com/f30/steam-cleaning-your-4-0-a-226299/
  15. And I include the military style battery terminals with the kits too
  16. -Indeed, as Pete here mentioned. I traded my 98 XJ for two MJs; 88 Pioneer with 4.0/auto 2wd and a 91 Eliminator with 4.0/ax-15 2wd. Mean Lemons is an anagram of my first and last name. My name is Neal E. I live in west Chester, Pennsylvania. I'm a moderator on CherokeeForum and a member of NAXJA & CherokeeTalk as well. I have had multiple XJs and WJs. Although right now I'm down to a XJ (my crawler) and now two MJs. My username on all those other forums are XJwonders. The reason why I didn't continue the practice of using that username because it wouldn't fit well in a forum specifically for MJs. Ha. I can be contacted at MeanLemons@gmail.com for speedy responses. (I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting my email here regarding cables, but it was already mentioned here before I signed up). Unfortunately I don't have a website at the moment, but that's something I would like to look into in the future eventually. I signed up here so I can learn more about the MJs... Sure the other forums have a section devoted to the Comanches but I figured why not join a MJ specific forum as well. Looking forward to learning/meeting some of u guys here, Cheers, Neal
  17. U can use 2000 and up XJ hubs or tj hubs. They are the same and that's what people use in WJ steering swaps on XJ and tj
  18. Or you could try to trade your XJ for the MJ. At least that's what I did last weekend. I traded my 98 XJ for a 88 MJ pioneer and a 91 MJ eliminator. Yes that's right I traded a XJ for two MJs.
  19. 87-90 aw4 interchange. 91-96 aw4 interchange. 97 is a standalone year but can be adapted to work in 91-96. 98-01 interchange. http://www.naxja.org/forum/showthread.php?t=1053970
