  1. http://www.winnebagoparts.com/lesharo-phasar.php Same motor is in Winnebago Lesharo
  2. too far away
  3. diesel fuel. He can't really blame you for that and the smoke will let you know who it is doing it.
  4. Yup. The MJ Model 20 tubes are thicker steel.
  5. I think we need more info. 4 cyl/2.8 V6 (AX5 std trans) or 6 cyl? (AX15)
  6. Looks like XJ or Eagle
  7. Go above the gas pedal and look for the vacuum hose going to the flap there. People kick it off quite often.
  8. There are things you can do to the 242 as well. Using parts from a NV242 DHD (used in diesel Dodges) or the version they used Humvees behind 6.5L turbo diesels can give you the strength (wider chain, etc) WJs with 242 replaced the open carrier with a Torsen limited slip unit.
  9. I almost said keep the stock grill and flip it.
  10. If you lower the MJ, 235s will hit.
  11. To throw some more info on the fire pile. S10s 4x4s with 2.8 or 3.4 used a 700R4 trans and usually NP231 tcase (slightly different from the Jeep version) '89 up 2.5L came with AW4 auto as an option to the 904, which will also bolt to the 2.8.
  12. The only bolt in front D44 is the one from a Rubicon and only the center section is D44! I need to switch out my current 3.73s for 4.10s since I converted to automatic. I did the XJ axle swap but next time it will be an 8.8 or similar strength diff. The D35 seems to be the reason my Comanche hasn't sold yet.
  13. cheap. I had one that kept getting drinks knocked over so I tossed it.
  14. Take the coil off the ignition pack and clean the connectors between and make sure the dist cap connectors aren't corroded. The extra high resistance took out my module friday after driving to Canada. Stole the coil/module off my son's MJ he wrecked and I was rolling again. CPS is on the edge of the bellhousing behind the head on the driver's side. The wires tend to melt to the exhaust if not routed correctly.
  15. If your brake lights work then the problem is probably in the fusebox. Corrosion of the box causes the heater fan to melt the wire off in the back and sometimes other circuits are taken out with it.
  16. It doesn't check the fluid level, but it "senses" difference between front and back line pressure by sliding a plunger that gets pressure from both lines. When one is lower pressure, the plunger slides sideways and trips the switch the plug is attached to.
  17. Someone on another board had one with a 904. Talk about S LO W!
  18. No trades needed here. Only reason mine is for sale is I have grandkids and need more interior space. I already have 2 Jtrucks to finish and an Eagle wagon.
  19. Put a chain in it now if there is any slack. It's not nearly as strong as the NP219
  20. ;) Not mine unfortunately. I traded my '82 Spirit to the guy (buddy of mine) who bought the SX4 after we converted the Spirit to 4x4.
  21. J10s have Model 20 or Dana 44 rear. Not Dana 60. J20 has full float 8 lug D60 and 71-73 J4000 came with single bearing D60s with 5 on 5.5" pattern (like CJ)
  22. If you have a std trans, I'll have the one out of my Comanche very soon to sell for $50 (all metal) The trans cooler leaks into the rad under heavy acceleration so it's not usable.
  23. I converted from 2wd BA 10/5 to AW4 in my '87. I swapped the underhood harness for one from a '90 XJ and used the XJ trans controlled. The ECU is still the 5 speed one. Works the same as any other AW4 XJ or MJ I've driven. The harness connector on the '89 MJ I parted is the same as the one on my '88 XJ trans I put in. There is an added crossbar on an angle from under the tcase to the frame for the MJs.
  24. Don't forget '97 model would be built after 08/96 so parts would have to be made/delivered to the plant before that!
