  1. When reading, keep on mine I have a 98 motor and renix wiring. So, I have been having high idle. I haven't had a chance to do the c101 elimination yet, but I've narrowed the high idle down to something unrelated I think. When I unplug the sensor, it idles normal. Doesn't matter if I start it warm or cold. If the sensor is plugged in when I start it, it idles above 2000 rpm. I have no o2 sensor connected right now. Is this the reason? I know the renix motors had 2 separate sensors for gauges and for engine management. Is thus a problem with using the old wiring? Any insight is appreciated. Mitch P.s. I'm putting an o2 sensor in now if thats the problem.
  2. I would think asking 3500 to 4000 would be reasonable, with hopes of getting 3 to 3500 for it. I'm no expert on the MJ but I've had my fair share of cars. Anything more than 4 and you're getting into newer nicer trucks
  3. I can agree with your theory. But if you're going to have the block and head checked out by a machine shop, it shouldn't matter. I'm guessing you're not wanting to go to the machine shop though. I'd say unless you cab hear it run anything is just add likely as the next.
  4. There are grooves for the straps. Look at my build thread for pics of a brand new tank
  5. The one that gwts the most traction?
  6. Check neutral safety switch?
  7. What year is this on? My 88 had the hub assembly bearings. Great write up.
  8. What he said. Your mj just needs to be unique some how. Whether it's super nice and stock or extremely modified. All just depends on how nice it is
  9. I want one
  10. Pass side floorboard. Above left foot area, there is the blender door. Research that. You might find your problem is the blender door is broke/the cable isn't functioning correctly.
  11. Look up the e-brake. I think there is a kit to move it. I'd search for Cherokee relocation kit over a MJ relocation kit. The rest I'm not sure about.
  12. Also, if you're really looking into it, you could do a 99+ intake manifold swap. Requires some knowledge to do. Nothing that can't be find here or other jeep/xj websites. I did it to my 98 motor in my Comanche. Gave me quite a bit more throttle response and butt dyno power. No real mpg yet, but still working on o2 sensors/and a/f ratio gauge.
  13. Buy a apn header, use your current downpipe. Single in dual out. Id take a picture of mine, but it's still ugly. I think it was 99+ out something they went to a 2 piece exhaust manifold. You could use that to do true duals all the way back. But I'm really not sure that a 4.0 is really worth having duals. Unless you're rubbing some forced induction I don't see a cost/benefit to justify it.
  14. No problem. Did you change browsers?
  15. Or could be a browser problem. Try using Google chrome
  16. Sounds like a website problem. Array is a table, they're used to track things sometimes in programming.
  17. Quoted for truth, same thing happen to me. The trailer wiring was messes up. Caused it to blow the fuse
  18. True...the only difference I see is that the Comanche is kind of unique....the ZJ had the uber mass production of all ZJs....
  19. How about using around 6 gallons of oil before finally finding that the o-ring from the previous filter was stuck on the new filter?
  20. Thanks guys. That's pretty much all the thoughts I was having
  21. So, I bought this and pretty much have intentions of never selling it. I love it, and wouldn't change anything about it right now....with "RIGHT NOW" being the reason I'm asking this question. Originally, when I bought the Jeep, it's intention was to be a vehicle that was super reliable, looked good (to me), was unique in some way, and had all the nice creature comforts that I wanted. My question comes to "future value" of the 5.9L ZJ. I seems now as though they've dropped as low as I can see them going (3-4K for a higher mileage, decent ride). My ZJ has ~140K miles, immaculate inside, close to immaculate outside. No rust. 100% bone stock as far as most are concerned (swapped a 96 ZJ Power steering pump in when my PS went out so that I could have a metal pulley), and that's as far as my modifications have went. I don't plan on selling this anytime soon, but that brings the question, does anyone see these being worth more than what they are now in 5 years? 10 years? I feel like they're never going to be a "collector" car. Especially with over 100K miles. I may never sell it, but I'm also a realist. If I'm going to keep it, I might want to mod it some, and don't want to destroy the value by lifting it, etc. Mitch
  22. Wish mine were as nice as yours, reuse them!
  23. Are you against junkyard parts?
