  1. I have not done 3, ill have to reread 4. I'll do then veggie this weekend and post results
  2. I'm always so jelly of your MJ hornbrod. It's probably my favorite MJ that's not off-road dedicated.
  3. Headed out there this weekend for some LIGHT trail riding. Nothing crazy as none of us have a winch, and I'm don't have off-road tires like i'd like. We are going to hit some service roads and camp. Anyone ever been? Any suggestions on scenic/easy routes? Thanks, Mitch
  4. Well, wedding is taking all my funds. A new Temp sensor at Autozone is like $30. Anyone have an extra laying around? I can pay shipping + some small expenses :) Thanks, Mitch
  5. Depending on how worn your leafs are I think most people average 7-8" of lift. So I'd say 6-8" springs. Not sure what the rules are for adding spacers to the springs when you lift that much, so I'll leave the final say so up to someone who has had a chance to lift theirs.
  6. I have rechecked my grounds. I did your tps adjustment today. I have to double check it though.
  7. Yes, you should be able to just swap them...but I'd waaaaaay rather have one with a small fuel gauge and a tach. EDIT: What year truck, and what year is the cluster out of?
  8. I work at the main hub in the industrial engineering department at UPS. Send me a tracking number and I'll figure out anything you need to know ;)
  9. So, the TPS for the 99 throttle body is different from the 88. So I had to make an adapter that makes the 88 TPS match up to the 99. So I have a blade that attaches to the TPS on the 99 sensor, and "catches" the blade of the 88 sensor. Adjusting that should adjust the idle, right?
  10. Is that 700 at operating temperature, cold, or both?
  11. I'm using the 88 auto tps. So when I swapped the intake we made an adapter. That adapter. An be adjusted to set idle. Thanks for the info. Ill be adjusting it this week.
  12. I'm reading anything from 200-1000 is normal. Anyone with a FSM care to chime in?
  13. What should a 4.0 idle at. Right now I have it set too low I think. I idle around 250rpm...Going camping next week and doing some slight changes before we leave Saturday morning. I have a 88 Comanche 98 motor 99 intake manifold/throttle body
  14. I don't think the Renix computer retains any memory what-so-ever. So, I don't think that did anything. The MAP sensor will cause the car to not run, or run poorly if there is any vacuum leak at all. I have a HO swap, and put the Neon injectors in. They made alot of difference in idle/throttle response. Not much in fuel economy. Easily worth the upgrade though!
  15. yes the red lens is starting to separate from the back, last time I looked at it it was about half the lens, so I've been trying not to mess with it much but it bothers me enough to want to fix it Fix it before it falls all the way apart. They're too expensive to not fix immediately
  16. Unplug the temp sensor and see if it fixes anything. I had that problem. What did you do for your tps?
  17. I'd just take some clear silicone and seal them well. IT'd be easy to take back apart if needed, but still hold everything together.
  18. Pics up close?
  19. Do Crusier's renix tips. Do a search for it and you'll find plenty of them. Check sensors/grounds.
  20. I also know a guy who drives a ranger with close to 450K miles (all stock motor, never rebuilt) and someone with 278K miles on a nissan maxima.
  21. I've had a Trooper with 232K miles (really more, but it had 33's on it from around 100K until I sold it, so no telling how many it actually had) Had a 94 5.2 ZJ with about 237K miles on it 02 Focus w/ 202K miles Had probably 10+cars with 180K+ miles. I view a car like a person...life epectancy goes up once you hit a certain age...Once you get past teenage driving years, SIDS, your 40's-50's (when more people develop disease, etc)...so once you get to a certain point, maintain it and it will serve you right.
  22. Does he mean he swapped it in with 258K miles? :???: Sounds like if it's done right it could be worth the asking price, or at least close. But I'm going to say its rough...
