  1. Good luck!! Since you knew what you were going to have, did you pick her name yet??
  2. No that was me. I have yet to instal the fans. I have all the parts to do so but so far I am keeping cool. Changed the fan clutch over to a ZJ HD one and that seems to have helped. Woops I guess I stole this thread but I do have a question for the other BlueXJ and that is about your hood. I want to make mine and not buy the Quadratec one. is that what you did?
  3. All the power setting does is change the preset shift points and make your shifts more sharp (and uncomfortable). As to the electrical connections for the AW4. My MJ has a stick but my XJ has the AW4 and the TCU is in the passenger kick panel. It may be in the same place on an MJ too. If all the connections are good then see if the two plugs on the TPS are both plugged in. One goes to the TCU and helps it with signals from the TPS, while the other goes to the ECU to manage the fuel system. Renix is any 4.0L from 87-90 so if you have a Jeep XJ or MJ within those years with the 4.0L then you have a Renix Jeep. Not too sure if that carried over to the YJ as well or not.
  4. All fixable. You will be an expert by the time you finish with that truck. Great experience. Tools are everyones limiting factor, even more than time or money.
  5. There is really no reason that a Renix motor is running poorly. I have a couple and they each run pretty well. They can be easily diagnosed with a $4 multimeter. And most parts are pretty cheap and easily replaced. Worst case is a re-manufactured engine and that will last you over 15 years if properly maintained. The reman engines are about $1800 so for less than a 150 a year you can drive your MJ another 15 years or so. Sounds like a deal to me.
  6. 2010 Dodge Challenger SRT. Very Cool and Very Fast!!!
  7. Lets see some more detailed pics especially with the cap off. Include the engine bay too!
  8. You should have given her the whole ticket. She picked it and it cost you a whole doller. Cheapskate!!
  9. Is it possible that you selected the wrong wire when making your splice and are now trying to ground a constant hot wire.

    nice shooting

Put him to giving the other kids lessons and you can charge for his services. That will add to the Jeep fund!!! He could help fill the freezer this fall.
  11. Everyone hates the bench but that is the reason I like it. You can seat 3 people if the need arises. Two buckets excludes that possibility.
  12. Sweet!!! Keep those Renix engines running forever. I just love a Renix. Turned down buying a couple of MJs that were not a Renix just because I wanted Renix engine in my Comanche. You have a great little truck. Keep going on your build.
  13. My momma always said "If you can't say somethin' nice keep your mouth shut'!! So here goes. I like the hood scoop.

    JY find

Nice find. Do they sell whole vehicles? That might be a restorable MJ. Blue
  15. Good job. Those CPS' can be bad right out of the box. I notch out the bottom of the bolt holes on mine so it can be changed without pulling the bolts completely out. That way you never have to worry about dropping a bolt down in the bellhousing. Makes for a quick trail fix.
  16. After the Renix years I think the pilot bearing size changed. It has been suggested that a CJ 304V8 size will work though so it shoud still be readily available.
  17. I recently decided to try this upgrade. I searched Ebay and failed to find the same controller. I then decided to bite the bullet and buy one from a supplier. Found that they are pretty expensive but got it anyways. $120 is not too much to ask for a cool running 4.0L. Here is the link. http://www.jaycorptech.com/showproduct. ... ductid=155
  18. James is right the cleaner will react with the brake fluid and it will be more difficult to get it clean. DISCONNECT the battery first before attempting to work around that fuse block. Remove the fuse block and then clean the mess caused by the leaking master. Then let it dry and repaint the area with a spray can before remounting the fuse block. Then re-connect the battery.
  19. Do you have any pics yet? I want to do the OBA but want to retain the A/C so I am in a larger quandry. Thinking at this point that it will need to be an electrically run compressor.
  20. That is an excellent question maybe the OP will grant our wish to see the freshly painted flares installed by way of a photo or several photos.
  21. Check the airfilter. If it is dirty or oil soaked then it starves the engine for air and thus you end up with a rich mixture. Rich mixture = black smoke and destroyed catalytic converter.
  22. Gun safe secured to the floor and burglar bars plus an alarm. And most importantly trusted neighbors. That is what I am trusting when going on vacation.
  23. Another solution is to replace the two piece axle on the passenger side with a one piece out of a non disconnect Dana 30 axle. Then you won't need the fork and it can be eliminated and a plate welded over the hole in the Dana 30 where the disconnect is currently located.
