Can't believe no one has commented on that innovative paint scheme. Double decker wings are all the rage too!!!

4.7 stroker burning oil after letting off of the gas
BlueXJ replied to kro10000's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Do a valve job and replace the seals and it will be fine. -
I used to live in Marietta and today I called a few friends from there and many can't get out of their subdivision because the roads are flooded. The 'hooch is at flood stage and expected to overflow her banks tonight or in the morning.

It has now been a couple of months. Did the truck get painted yet and the flairs re-installed??? Inquiring minds want to know!!!

Question #9 is covered in the 2 volume set of FSMs as well. In fact there is a whole volume devoted to electrical stuff.

I think they will interchange. Check the wiring plugs. If they are both with CC then yes or both w/o CC then yes but an exchange with one with and the other without there may be some wiring issues.

If I was crazy enough to want a Ford then this is what I would get. At least it could be useful and not get you dead.

Bought it a new stop light switch.

21 to 23 spline 242 conversion
BlueXJ replied to sufidancer's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Most every 86-90 was 21 splines but in 91-92 they could have been either as Jeep was trying to use the AW4s on hand. This was the story as related to me when I found a 91 XJ with a 23 spline and another with a 21 spline. -
Great actor with a large range of characters he could play. From Dancer to Bouncer and from soft easy going to tough as nails. He will be missed on screen as well as off. R.I.P.

Help..no spark after motor change
BlueXJ replied to sinkrun's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
CPS needs to be kinda clean as it needs a +/- 5volts to send to the ECU before the ECU will allow the injectors and spark to turn on. It also must see a starter RPM of 300 to allow those things turned on. As many have mentioned a pinched wire is very common and will stop that very faint signal(+/-5V) to get to the computer. So it would be a great way to get more familar with your Jeep to physically explore that all the way into the harness. -
XJ is my DD until I finish getting the MJ back together. Then it will become my DD. Down here you need A/C and the MJ has a non-working one and I swapped the bench back in it and have not got any belts in it yet. Working on it as funds permit. Maybe by the end of October I will be using it as my DD.

Today we commemorate the day our world changed forever. Today we remember the acts of cowardice and hatred. Today we strengthen our resolve to never forgive and to right the wrongs done to us. Today we look back though time and see the faces and hear the names. Today we hear "Let's Roll" and celebrate the acts of a handfull of brave souls. Today the sights, the sounds, and the emotions come racing back to us.

New to forums and a new mj
BlueXJ replied to snowboard3r411's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Nice!! Keep us up to date on the build up. Great platform to begin the build upon. -
They are pretty cheap at most auto parts places. Were used on many Chrysler products from the early 70s until mid 90s as well as Renix era Jeeps.
-
The ones I have seen on vehicles equipped with manual transmissions(not Jeeps) had a disconnect under the clutch pedal. This keeps the engine from revving up when the load is removed and the CC is still engaged. Most autos have the disconnect under the brake pedal.

Just talking about selling it is blasphemy. This is a Comanche site and we all love them or we would not be here. I have a real project and I cherish it. I waited 6 years to find it and I would not sell it for anything. It and my XJ are like my kids. I know every inch of them and have my blood sweat and tears in both of them.(not to mention a veritable fortune) So you can guess that I vote to keep it and look for an XJ to use as a kidmobile.

Can you post pics of this conversion. It sounds simple but I would like to see the pics to make sure I understand correctly.

Both of my in cab lights behind the driver and passenger's head both work but the clips holding them are bad or missing. I would like the mirror system too but need clips to reinstall my other ones into their proper place. Where can they be had from?

Can you re-post those pics for us that are new to MJs??? I never knew that the 2door XJ and the MJ were different.

oil filter adapter o ring parts number
BlueXJ replied to sinkrun's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Read MadXJ's write up on oil filter conversions. http://www.madxj.com/ Close to the bottom of the technical page under engine. -
Let us know what you find when you drop the pan. I am a little worried about the increased oil pressure. Might be a piece of the old RMS in the oil passage on the rear main cap too. Hope it is not a spun cam bearing.

Hope you stuck a Comanche Club card under his windsheild wiper.

It is looking better than if it was on the showroom floor. I don't recall a more rust free truck at any time in the past.
