I had a 10a. They are neat but parts are spendy for that dizzle. Of course the parts mine needed where the most exPensive. It was a Dana 70 rear and a tube axle front. It had a huge counterweight over the rear axle. Traded it for a POS xj.

That wasn't the point. Supply and demand was the point. Bet they sell alot more 12G then .410..... -
ZJ 4.0 vs. XJ 4.0 Drag Link??
xjrev10 replied to HOrnbrod's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Supply and demand? Bought any .410 gauge shotgun shells and compared the price to a 12 gauge shell? My best guess. -
Awesome! I put a WJ booster/master in my 88 but have yet to get the truck going to try it out!!

jeep comanche death wobble please help
xjrev10 replied to Jschristensen's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Steering stabilizers mask the problem; don't fix the problem. -
Yep I agree. The HB ball joint press kit works great. Comes with a nice case also for around 80 buck IIRC.

Ive tried 3 different known good batteries the last week. Yes in my expirence, starters just quit. Ill pull the thing outa there and have it tested. What do they actually 'test' on the starter? I have had one tested before but it turned out to be a reman starter that I had just bought was junk. I work tonite midnights, I'm going to drive it to work. Just wish it was a manual trans so I could pull start the darn thing if need be..

1 ton steering setup... Which one. need help
xjrev10 replied to Zebvance's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I had the Currie HD steering at one time. Lots of money, pure beef, most definately NOT indistructable. But it can be pounded back to shape.. -
The best helmet I ever has was a Jackson. Tough as nails, no auto darkening, no frills. I used it when I was doing some extremely heavy work building mining truck dump bodies. Running 3/32 dual shield wiring for 10 hours a day and lots of air arc work. For school I had a few Hobart Hoods cuz they can be had easy locally with fancy paint jobs. They break and burn up easy with too much heat from air arc or heavy stick and wire welding. Currently i have a speedglas. I can't remember what the heck it is, but I believe they only made the helmet for a couple years and stopped. Cover lenses are 15 bucks for a box and I have to wait a week to get them. I worked 5-6 years in the welding field. I was certified in 6G D1.5 if I remember correctly and the plate "bridge" certification. I loved welding, building things, making a mess etc. But sometimes even after all that you still tend to 'fall' into a job. I'm now a truck driver in a mine and soon ill be operating every piece of equipment in the mine...I look at my welding as something I can always fall back on after a couple days of tuning back in...

The only pic I have of her 04 Libby. Creme puff we bought this last Jan. with 40k. The reason its on the trailer is that I have to have it down at the dealer 70 miles away for a recall, and pick the ATV up about 68 miles away in the same direction! My POS 98 XJ I got for cheap and wheel the crap out of. Mostly use for trail work. notice the body is in mint condition. 8)

Right, because then they would be dead... How does that make sense? Jus cuz.

This is in regards to my 91 MJ, 4.0, auto, 2wd. I been having strange issues the past couple days with the starter. I have ruled out a battery issue. When the starter itself is warm, it does not want to turn over. It will but it does so extremely slow. The reason I say warm is that even when the jeep sits in the sun all day it has trouble turning over. But of course it will never do it at home because its usually 4 in the morning when I'm leaving the house and the starter would be cool at that time. I was just out in the yard a little bit ago and tried it; jeeps been sitting in the shade and its probably only 60 above, worked like a charm. It has not left me stranded...yet. I just don't know if this could be a starter motor problem, solenoid issue, wiring problem..... I just don't want to get stranded at work with the dang thing. I work in a mine and its not like someone can just drive through security and come pick me up at work.....almost like working on a air force base or something..
