  1. Order from Hell Creek! Might speed my order up!
  2. Got a small electric pressure washer and some more degreaser and went to town under the hood. Looks good now. Did I take a pic no. This is the only one I have. Box is coming off tomorrow. don't mind my finger in the pic
  3. Guess I'm going to consider myself lucky then.
  4. I thought they used built 2.5s in all their race trucks. Trophy trucks and road track trucks.
  5. 5. In my yard. Theres one driving around town, I didnt see it today....
  6. Holy smokes really. All you guys are living in the past. I have a few optimas that are 5-6 old with zero problems. A couple years ago (2-3 years) optima had trouble, now they are back in the game. Do some research TODAY on them. Great deal for a yellow top. I was going to get 2 yellow tops for my CTD, but decided 230 bucks each was a little spendy. All my offroad rigs have rocked optimas for safety and convience. I have one in the plow truck now and one in the xj. Both red tops. Both are at least 5 years old; I never done anything but used em. Yes mine are the older version which has been proven they are good batteries. I bought a blue top a year ago and it was awesome for my pickup camper. Never charged all season.
  7. Search around a bit. These questions have been answered in great depth many times here. Short answer is yes with some grinding depending on what kit or brand of suspension and 4.5-6.5 depending on how healthy your springs are. I like keeping things spring under to keep axle wrap at bay... Welcome to the club!
  8. I say we keep it the 17th...
  9. I bought this truck to drive and use for ice fishing next winter. I have been kicking around the idea of replacing the cab corners and rockers but theres a few spots on the x frame that are pretty rotten. This truck drives and runs great, I'm just gonna drive it.
  10. Whats a few good ways to get rid of small dents? How about holes in the top of the bed rails or in the bedsides? (drilled holes) I can weld em, but I will not if I don't have too.
  11. That'll happen :rotf:
  12. This is really cool. Wish I could help...don't have much in the 'offroad' clothing department.
  13. In my area that seems like the norm. On the high side, but if I needed one, id pay it for a good one.
  14. Tribe... Cool! 5 for me

    Dually?

don't forget brakes, brakes and more brakes. And 4wd. Nah. You would have to have a lift to clear the front diff with the 4bt oil pan because the engine itself is tall. Brakes? Yeah, good controller, four wheel discs, and a manual trans. I think it could work. Pipe dream! Ha just noticed I put "XJ" in the original post. Or just in the quoted posts? :hmm: nevermind, I hate April 1.
  16. I love my Pittsburg tools from harbor freight. I have had a 4 foot cheater bar on my 3/8 ratchet many times. Yeah, stupid, i know, but I have not broke one yet. Never split a socket either. Cannot say the same for Crapsman ratchets and sockets. Lifetime warrenty on the tools, half the price. No brainer for me unless you are going for a status simbol or something. :rotf:
  17. Project complete: Also loaded the wheeler up. Still undecided if the wheeler might be too much weight for this crusty truck.... This should be it for the build thread.
  18. Little teaser pic I took for myself of the new to me Hankook Dynapros on the Rubi wheels. Will not be able to fit them on till the springs arrive. They are 265/75/16s which are like a 32/10.50/16. Tires are load range E so they are HEAVY.
  19. any interior pics out?

    Dually?

I must say I have finally decided what my ideal MJ is. Talked to neohic yesterday about it and he agreed its something probably everyone has thought about. I'm a little slow to the game. LWB MJ 2wd Dana 60 rear with duals Cummins 4BT NV4500 Frame stiffeners 16-18 foot Custom made aluminum gooseneck to haul your trail rig!
  21. I tried whining my way outa them... O well. :rotf: Anyway, after 12 hours away from home, around 550 miles of driving, 35ish gallons of diesel fuel, its finally officially adopted. Took it into town this morning, well afternoon I guess to get some gas, and........its first haul.
  22. I bet, honestly I don't know how you flatlanders can live there, I'm surprised you don't just jump off a cliff to.......oh wait thats right, nevermind. The lakes, fishing and boating keep me here. I love the weather, its fairly predictable, etc. I lived in Casper, WY for a few months. Found nothing else to do beside jump in the jeep and go exploring. 600 miles a day sometimes. Keep posting!! :clapping:
  23. pre 76
  24. My thinking is that I don't even seriously LOOK at something unless I have cash in hand. Then I call right away. Even if someone is on there way to go look at it, I will speed to beat them there. don't even really look at it in front of the owner if its something you want, pay your cash, load it on the trailer (in my case) and blow outa there. Stop to get some refreshment down the street and give the truck a good once over. Thats what I do when I get serious about something.
  25. I had to drop my steering and track bar to get the Pan out from under the jeep. Yes easy project.
