  1. Just cuz it's original. They rot out fairly easy. I'd rather have a real heavy duty steel bumper then a stocker.
  2. My thoughts exactly.
  3. If you can find a limited XJ I believe those had the black and red gauges. I've owned 3 89 XJs and one had black and red, the other had blue.
  4. You use junkyard or new parts?
  5. Cool! I know what you are talking about in those last few sentences! I never thought about it I guess.
  6. I think she's okay till........she opens her mouth.
  7. A built 4 door JK is 7500-8000 pounds. OP has said nothing about his MJ being modified. My 88 LWB weighs about 4100 full of fuel with me in it. I'm looking at running JK44s in my trail rig project, so yes I have done my research. Modified axles IN heavy boat anchor JKs the bending is a problem and rightly so. Now I'm not saying you are or are not going to bend a axle from a JK in a MJ just you would be hard pressed to bend one in a stock MJ which presumably is what the OP has....
  8. I agree with what you are saying and I probably would do the same thing. But when you get CL morons like crazy on certain things... Tough to deal with. More then once I've told people to just get the hell outa my yard. Last one was actually someone coming to look at my 5YP jeep.... Ha Guess I should have specified. CL brings out lots of different folks. Forum folks are a lot better to work with then the general public! Also within a few minutes on the phone you know if you are talking to a enthusiast or just someone looking for some wheels....
  9. Holy smokes oil/filter threads coming outa the woodwork! WIX FTW
  10. Just bought a new truck. My credit was ran about 10 times from different loan agencies. They all have been sending me letters in the mail.... Ridiculous.
  11. I find it interesting that you guys have been successful in negotiating prices down over the phone. I absolutely will not talk money over the phone about any item. If the interested party trys, I give them one chance to shut up or I just hang up. Sounds brutal but Ive never had a issue, neither has the interested party. But I know what I'm selling and what its worth too the folks that I'm attempting to sell too...
  12. Then youd have to MARRY her!
  13. Offer 1000. Look for frame rot near the rear spring hangers and X frame. If there is ANY, use it to your full advantage. To get a better deal. If not walk away; there are others out there.
  14. Team cherokee has new parts I believe. They sure don't give those things away. http://www.teamcherokee.com/Door_and_Related_Items/index.html
  15. Bending issues..... Yer talking about a vehicle bending a axle that weights almost 2 times as much as a average MJ.... I don't think there would be any problem using JK axles in a MJ if they can be had for a reasonable price. But most of that stuff might as well be coated in gold. Specifically the Rubi D44s.
  16. My 91 2wd I just scapped did not have unit bearings. I'm thinking 96 was the first year the 2wds and unit bearings....
  17. Rotella and WIX! Summer 15w40, winter 10w30. Always top off the oil when I fuel up and most of the time its 15w40 cuz its available at the truck stop where I always buy my fuel. Seems to be a popular combo. Once in a great while I might use a mopar filter.
  18. NEVER screw with someones vehicle that could case significant damage. Just aint right. That said, I would find out who screwed with yer truck and make sure theirs never runs again! Revenge is okay in my book!
  19. I like to see some more pics of the suspension and how you mounted the coilovers. (topsides)
  20. I own 2 mini consoles. I just learned both are cracked.....
  21. Gotta look at pics before you drive halfway across the state!
  22. Huh. No one?
  23. You really need someone else to answer this question for you? I would go anywhere if I had the time, money, etc.... No such thing as too far.
  24. Yes. I agree. She gave up lots of parts that will live on!
