T-case compatability question...
BJA814 replied to ncgamedog's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
Jeff is right....I did the same thing on my 2wd to 4wd swap. Check your 2wd tranny. Speedo drive and quill should be there. -
We NEEEEEED to get Chrysler to let us adopt that thing. Visiting rights would be a must!

T-case compatability question...
BJA814 replied to ncgamedog's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I had a link somewhere to what spline counts were in what trannies, but can't find it now... :???: But things to look out for are: spline count, input shaft length, and speedo set up. There's a chance the input shafts on the two will be different, but there is no reason that you wouldn't be able to swap parts around to end up with a 231 SYE behind your AX-15. They are both 231's and it wouldn't be any harder than putting a SYE in. -
Like others have said...best bet is to buy a whole tranny and t-case combo. Less headaches, and probably cheaper too. Heck, I found a whole XJ for what I was going to pay for a tranny.

I tore apart a motor in a parts store parking lot once. It was on my first truck, a 1990 F-1fixme. Found out I burnt up the #5 piston. Swapped in a 351 over the next week, in the same parking lot. I did work there though, so doesn't really count.

Looking good man! It's good to see you bring this thing back to life when most others would have given up a long time ago. Keep it up.

Project Swamp Yankee UPDATE: 36" TSL SX
BJA814 replied to BJA814's topic in Member Projects: Your Comanches
Also got new sneakers for the DD in there at some point. 285/75/R16 Procomp All-Terrains. I know some people have mixed feelings about procomp, but so far, I love the tires. I have about 2k miles on them, driving upwards of 50mi a day now on the highway. I just towed a 5000lb camper 250 miles each way this weekend, and they still rode smooth and predictable. I would definately buy another set without a doubt. And the best part? I got them on the buy 3 get 1 free sale. $560 for three 33" tires?!?! Can't beat it. -

Time for a general update on life/jeeps. abbreviated versions....haha :typing: Got a new job! Engineering tech at an automotive filtration company. Last day of work at the Farm for the MJ: Checked out a a friend's leaf spring XJ on 37's: Bought the front axle from his Jeep for $50...it's a 297 joint HP D30. (still has sticker on it!!) Image Not Found Image Not Found Got to pulling my axles to swap in D44 and 297 D30: Image Not Found Image Not Found A few weeks prior, my brother MACKED a rock with the front dif. Didn't seem like a big deal at the time. Spider is eaten up on the long side, but gears still look great. Wheeled it for a test drive: Image Not Found Image Not Found And thats about all for now....any questions, ask and I'll type the long versions. -
Definitely photo shopped those wheels on. The stuff in the windows goes up and down too :shake:

Don't fear the 4x4 swap...its pretty easy, and you won't regret it.
-
I should be heading over there to check it out. Sadly, the MJ is still recovering from the D44 and '99 D30 swap. (few bugs to work out) I'll hopefully dragging the old man along to try and get him interested in the sport.

TA-DAAAAAAAAAA viewtopic.php?f=3&t=17390&hilit=BJA814+silly&start=15 Built it eariler this year, and so far I love it. Few things I would do differently if it were to be permanant, but this setup is fast/easy. -
Never mind the bed...how about that sweet PVC rollbar? Or whatever that thing is stuck to the hood as an ornament...

Thanks again guys...I can't begin to tell you all how much it meant to our family to have everyone praying and thinking of her. Day two of her recovery is going great, she was up and walking this afternoon!! She should be home friday. Can't wait. Brad

Surgery went extremely well! Doctor said he found no signs of cancer. We won't know 100% for a few days, but he is 95% sure that we caught it in time. Mom is recovering in the hospital for a few more days. Doc said she was very calm and did great. What a trooper. Thanks for all your support. Brad

Thanks guys I really appreciate it. We're packing her things for the hospital now, and will be heading out soon. I will update this thread tonight. Brad

Thanks guys, I appreciate it. It just happened so fast, we really weren't expecting this. The doctors are prepared for anything though, whether its cancerous or benign.

Things have been kind of crazy here the last week or so. I started a great new job on Monday that I would love to tell you guys about, but we have gotten some unfortunate news during the past few days. My mother, whom all my gearhead, Jeep, and dirtbike friends passionately call "Momma" has been feeling pretty under the weather for the past two weeks. She's been to the doctors several times this week to try and figure out what's wrong. On Monday, she will be having surgery to remove a mass in her abdomen at Brigham & Women's Hospital in Boston . I would like to ask that you keep her in your prayers during that day and throughout her recovery time. Once they find out what this mass actually is, I will be sure to update you. She will be at BWH for 3-5 days and then will be home recovering for about six weeks. Her surgery will be with Dr. Neil Horowitz of Dana-Farber on Monday at 1:00pm, at Brigham and Women's Hospital. Our family asks that you take a moment on Monday around 1pm, and send all your positive thoughts and prays her way. Thank you in advance for all of your prayers and support, we are looking forward to having Mom back and healthy. Brad Amaral

I'd like to see some pictures/info on the interior cage... Truck looks great too! -
I got all of my cables from a local parts store. As far as the release handle, post a Want To Buy thread in the classifieds...I'm sure someone on here has one.

I used to have a bunch hanging around in the garage....haven't seen them in years. I wonder where they went. :dunno: If that is to correct style, here is a set of 4 on ebay for $54.xx http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1995-200 ... ccessories
