So what motor did you put in? Not the original motor (type) means going from a 2.2 to a 4.0 or sbc etc. Is this a 4cyl? Stock engine controls (computer)? If this is a direct replacement, I'd suggest reading up on engine controls, what they do, and why you need them.

Four dogs, three cats, fifteen chickens, three ducks, five horses (three full size, two minis), and six goldfish, say I can spend and bring home whatever I want within reason (yeah right). Currently we ( I ) have 13 vehicles including 2 Harleys....so no. Momma likes animals, I don't say nothing bout them, momma happy, we all happy. -
Yup, I always pull the upshift light, it doesn't know what it's doing.....It lies. You could have a bad upshift switch (vacuum maybe?), although that is one MJ thing that I don't know if there is one, how it works, or where it's at....

First off I'm not defending ANYBODY. Just cause a sideways conversation went on, does that prove guilt? How does anybody know that a DODGE HATER, at a Jeep event, didn't do this? Did anybody see him do this? So just because he got butt hurt as a Hillary supporter that immediately points the finger AND proves his guilt? Bo, I'm sorry somebody did this to your truck. I think it's wrong to point fingers, as you have NO physical proof (items in individuals possession) or visually that he actually did it. Might as well say a black man did it, you can't prove whether he did it or was just walking by. Nobody seen it. God Damn Hillary supporter! Screw due process, and the guys RIGHT TO FREE SPEECH, Get a rope! He has to be guilty... don't be steppin on my Constitution, I'll defend it today just as I did the day I took the oath. Everybody deserves due process, free speech, and all the rights given that this document provides. Ya didn't see it happen, take your losses. Or be part of the greater problem.

I'd take the belt off, start it up, listen without the sounds associated with the drive, eliminates/indicates something such as WP bearings.

Could be full of mice nest like mine was. I usually put a sock full of moth balls on the floor of "mothballed" vehicles to proactively keep mice out.Not sayin yours has mice...or had mice. -
Roadside assistance rider in my liability policy has got me towed home twice, gassed when out, and jump started a time or two, WAAAYYY worth the $9 for six months per vehicle.

I agree ^^^ and as with any other electrical issue, always start at the battery....good clean terminals, serviceable cables, chassis grounds, etc.... Got to eliminate possible culprits or contributors first, I think I'd service the elec system and replace the switch, don't forget to tighten the switch connectors, (sometimes this is the cause, connectors that have loosened up over time). -
Got any kind of build thread for this anywhere?

Best bet if their old (master/slave), replace both with new, and sometimes required for parts warranty -
I was ready to go further than that, bout 900 mi one way, for a short box one, just bout had the woman convinced....then got one for free (non Jeep though). Oh yeah, I like road trippin, specially for something only I would love or have use for...

I'm also an alumni member of "seat belts save lives" program....rolled a TJ down a side hill, went over 5 or six times, we both walked away. Nowadays, I wear my seat belt and ride with a helmet, because I have people who love me...this means a lot. So glad you had your seatbelt on.

Oil Viscocity with HV oil pump question.
64 Cheyenne replied to big66440's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
So you're saying that installing a new High Volume oil pump will cause the "crush" ( which is the ONLY thing that keeps bearings in place ) to somehow be decreased allowing main, rod and cam bearings to "float" away and seize onto the rotating crank shaft or camshaft? :hmm: Crush? Sheesh, never mind, cause nowhere did I say it "it will cause" I was stating as was told to me by an engine builder who does it for a living that it is possible. Reason I was told this is that my lower end, and lifters sounded noisy to me, I was wanting to quiet it some, thinking low oil pressure was the culprit, granted I have low press at idle, but is in the middle of the gauge at speed, His recommendation, if I insisted on a new oil pump was to replace it with a stock spec oil pump (which I never did). Four years later and a bunch of 4k+ runs later, engine still going strong, piston slap still sounds the same, kind of like a diesel when its idling. Miles on the engine...really? Ive had this truck since I think 08, 2 clusters, 3 transmissions, 2 transfer cases later...odometer says I think about 170k but who knows for sure. When the engine decides to give up, I just pull one from stock or finish the HO I have on the engine stand. -
See that new pic of her oooooohhhh laaaaaa laaaaaa. And I wonder where that truck is or what happened to it?

Oil Viscocity with HV oil pump question.
64 Cheyenne replied to big66440's topic in MJ Tech: Modification and Repairs
I did not say "you have a spun bearing" I was stating that when you take an older engine with increased clearances, add a new high volume pump, there is more of a possibility of the increased pressure to more or less "float", for lack of a better word, the cam, main/rod bearings out off or off their journals resulting in a spun bearing.
