Yeah they do Pete. You need a bushing that fits snugly over your input shaft and has a press fit, (hammer action) in your crank bore. Should not be able to put it in and out by hand.

Bend axle. Best hook point if havent any. don't hook to tie rod drag link... best to get some solid hook points so that your not in a mud hole swimming to get a strap around the front axle. Never cheap out on recovery.

Yeah behind the collector those lower bolts tend to lossen up. Check all for good measure, it has been that simple before with jeeps.

Well we made the 448mile road trip back to the Trailer Mansion. Pushed the old girl gentley and she did not let me down. Smooth spot was about 62 and quieted down enough to not be annoying down the highway. Slow and steady is the game. Found the gas leak with a full fill up, so now only fill to 3/4 full. Add that to the list like the big jeep also needing a fuel tank and pump. It was great fun driving "baby jeep" back north. Night and day difference driving experience and comfort by far. never remember the cab being as quiet as it was. But I like it. I tell you I did the bare min to get it going again and make this trip. This machine is just a machine that dosent quit if you take of them. I love the realibilty with these 4.0s. Now I will have to go through all of cruisers tips for sure being I plan to maintain the renix setup on her. Need to check them damn grounds. Glad to have all 3 MJs home again. MJ is a little pooped out after our road trip adventure. Got to see her buddy Rusty as we camped out last night creek side. Last min decision being the fuel pump was going out or I was just running out of gas. I added gas after we left and seem to run fine for the last 20 miles and i. The cool morning. Also aided me driving at night when its cooler out and less traffic. Made for a smooth road trip. Now that I'm back I may even grease things now.

Just a random thought...have you checked your fly wheel bolts? Possibly loose or oveled out. Only saying as you seem to check most the common areas with no luck yet. Seems viable but I'm just guessing.
