Currently resting we could say. here's a flash back to when I first got the the Baby Jeep. Soon to have the pair together again.

Have some stopping power and about ready to hit the road. Still working on lights and grounds and fuses. Shifting wasnt right, maybe because of a blown 7.5 fuse... Mj is ready to go. Full moon its time to move. Sooonner then later mostly.

Brake work.

No compression no fire.

Well after several trips I found the right shoes for her and goinng to bypass the real load valve. Found a bad line after much pumping 9f the brakes. Good news i think being i was worried about the booster. So with fresh new parts hope to get it plumbed and hilding pressure by end of day. Time is running out. ready to ride.

Well after draining couple gallons of some very old fuel by jumping the fuel rely and draining at fuel filter. That was replaced with new fuel hose as well. So added 5 gallons of premo gas with some gunmount system cleaner. And having found a 550cca battery locally for $40, went picked it up on my bike, fit well in the milk crate. With that score I was feeling good about it firing up for me after all these years sitting. Figured it to be about 8 years. None the less, its back and I'm bring her back to life. As per the plan this is baby jeep and will be made pretty and kept nice and serve as reg dd. For now its just getting it going and getting back north before winter. So after several attempts to get it going by flushing the bad gas out at the fuel rail. Took a bit but finally got to some clear vs yellow gas amd it smelled a lot less like turbintine. So it was rolling good and seemily poping but not enough to start the ol tractor motor. So figured Id best check the cap and plugs. Surly they needed some attention. Indeed they did so back to parts store on the reliable bike to get jeep part. $87.87 got me a new cap, rotor, 6 plugs, autolite platinum being only the cheapest at 4.99. And a pack of hose clamps with a new fuelfilter. I think I forget how much these jeeps nickel and dime you. I can't expect nothing less as I love these 4.0s and jeeps. Plentiful and realiable. Ins is decent as well. Glad to have my dd back. So furthermore, go back to swap the cap with plugs one at a time to not mess up the firing order...to old, to young, just right. Fired right up it did and I yelled "its alive!" . Amazing the difference fresh gas and new spark plugs will do. With that she is running like 170k 4.0 with no sounds but that loud exhaust as someone got the cat off it. So with it running it has held pressure and no leaks in cooling system. Has the resoviour open system still. Everything looks to be working good, few lights and rely with fuses need gone through for sure yet. Did a quick lap around the farm but I has no brakes. no fluid present as leaks anyways. No pressure at the pedal not moving any fluid at the wheels, so thinking it just might be the booster. Not what I wanted to get into at this moment but not sure 500 miles with trailer be in order with out it...that is where I sit and stare and try and remember how to even do drum brakes again. still has factory spare underneath yet.

Baby jeep is back home finally. Glad to have it back. Been sitting about 5 years or so now. Quick test and got it to fire right up. Super happy. Just need a decent battery and couple tires and fresh gas and I hope to drive it back to the UP in a couple days. Fingers crossed.

Not to bad to have one built. Simple tape measure to get specs. Pig yoke to tcase shaft. You can get yokes from a old xj drive shaft and have it retubed for your mj. But maybe in luck to find someone on board here to have one available though.

Oh man do I need to spend some much needed attention to the ol girl. She had leaks everywhere. still gets me point a to b however could be smoother. front tires have quite the wear pattern going on. This has been in the back of my mind for a bit just haven't gotten around to fixing it. Blah blah. Needs the steering box swapped out and I've been holding off to get lines and new pump with ram to move forward with hydro assit. Well just may need to plug the tap holes for the moment and just get the box in as mine has about an inch of slop in it. amount other things to be address I atleast swapped out the trans fluid for some good ol atf. Run it for a bit then pony up for that red line stuff everyone ravs about I guess. Still messing with linkage and still haven't gotten it right. So over this darn tease. I reckon I'm going to get on with the 231c and add a she to it and get that prepped up to install. Which will make me have new driveshafts made up, yet again which is what I was trying to avoid but less vibes going 62 be cooler. Punch list of items to handle before the white stuff Flys so hurry up already.

Addicted for life. can't beat the workhorse these midsise trucks are. Go figure they only made so many, they knew a solid platform it was. Racing to hauling these jeeps did it all. Much like you guys I was glad to get a MJ back in my dd line up. Congrats.

Couple more days for the bike, then I reckon its time to get after the jeep and perhaps install the new doors and replace a seal or three. Thinking get some insurance on it tomorrow then be more gun ho to start driving it around since the dog doesnt much like bike season. Get some updates coming before long.
