now THAT'S a good score!

I've made the switch to a backpack for my tools (the Jeep still holds the bulk as a basecamp and I carry in only what I think I'll need) and now I'm bringing in a big blue IKEA bag for collecting the goodies I find (after misplacing a couple items somewhere in the junkyard on this last trip). just thought I'd share. (my bag isn't this nice but a guy can dream) it's big, it's blue, it's made from rip-resistant polymers! oh, and the handcart for big items.

this actually makes me feel a little better about leaving a pair in the junkyard the other day. I pulled them from the truck but they vanished from my hand sometime in the next 3 hours. no idea where I set them (and the hood cable) down. next time I'm bringing an IKEA bag to carry my goodies!

we have 3 disk brake conversion writeups in the DIY list. could you guys skim through them and see if any info needs to be updated? thanks!

tech questions from the original poster should really go in the tech forum because far more eyes will see them. upgraded or rebuilt injectors are readily available on the internet. I can't remember if we have a writeup on injectors, but there's lots of great info in the link in my signature. rockauto.com is a place to get a lot of the standard sensors and whatnot. first thing I would do once I got my hands on the truck is run through Cruiser's renix tips .

there are ways to "turn back the clock".

all depends on how flashy you want to be. day-glow colors seem to be all the rage but I still prefer the subtler hues. the truck will look great either way.

that engine might be its saving grace. just good enough for pleasant relaxing sunday drives and whatnot for another 3 decades.

last time I put my 88 on a trailer I used only the starter motor to move it. bring a fresh battery and you might get lucky with its ability to move itself (very slowly). and welcome to the addiction.

based on the pic (and not personal experience) it appears that the curved slider had shorter brackets underneath it and that would account for the extra height after dropping them on MJ floor brackets.

you want to try and adapt a 2.8 v6 into your truck? wait, lemme rephrase that: you don't want to try and swap a 2.8 into your truck. any inline 4 2.5L block from any year XJ/MJ/TJ/YJ will work for you. no need to get drastic with the ancient engines when a late 90s will do fine.
