that is an odd reason to do an engine swap. how would you know that the replacement won't have some other even worse problem? where is the trans leaking from?

tech questions from the OP should really go into the tech forum to get more eyes and also to be searchable in the future. but as for the brake lights: check the fuse check power going to the brake switch check power coming out of the brake switch when depressed. clean the ground behind the drivers side taillight and check that the bulbs are in fact double filament. and for the hazards, do your turn signals work? if so, swap the round clicker pot in the fuse box with the turn signal pot and see if they work again.

where from specifically? have you eliminated the valve cover as the source?

that would necessitate an entire drivetrain swap. I'm not sure if the OP is up for that level of effort.

walked over and set the new (to me) throttle body and linkage on the hood. maybe later in the week I can actually replace the stuck parts and get her running again.

I will keep an eye out.

I could have really used that at the junkyard yesterday! stupid dewalt doesn't seem to make one yet.

went back today with the hope of cutting out the rockers but gave up and grabbed a fuel pump assembly, throttle body and some sensors instead. should have grabbed the ebrake too but didn't think of it. oh, and some Liberty stuff too (tow hooks, rear gate release, vents that actually move, and a mirror switch).

same here. blows my mind to hear that hollow metal sound when I tap above the rear flares.

from the searching I've done, I've found that the ones that caught my eye usually had the winch mounted higher up and the angled the underside to improve approach angle. the other tidbit I noticed is that once you put some sort of brush guard on top, the pout-y lip appearance goes away pretty quick. as in, the dirtbound bumper didn't strike me the same way. It certainly looks kinda bulky, but the added dimension took away the chin thing.

is there a section of craigslist dedicated to 90 year old cars? how do you find these things?
