if it's not the bulbs themselves, my money is on the harness connector behind the drivers side rear tire.

do the front running lights work?

are your brake lights too bright? I know that several members have used the peel-away paint and hit them with some light coats just to take the edge off. or you can clean and polish them up and hit them with clearcoat. that's what I did to the ones on my trailer.

4.7L engine so I'm guessing it's an nv3500? should I try to get it? more importantly, will it bolt to my CRD? lol

I've got the physical installation down (I think), but the wiring is going to be interesting. yours would be a bit easier though since you don't have the pass side pressure switch. I'll take more detailed pics of what I had to do in the morning. I intend to use the fold down option for sleeping. (also hauling long boards and such) I've tried sleeping in the back (I'm too tall) and tried sleeping in the front seat (that just plain sucks) so I really looking forward to having a plank from front to back so I can use it as a camper on trips.

can you feel the engine more than before?

of course it does! it's a 4.0! mine's been through a half-dozen calamities and it still fires up and scoots. Though it's been a couple years since I fired it up (not since the throttle body seized up). Soon as I'm done messing around with the KJ I'm going to install that replacement and see what happens.

scored some KK front seats and 2 decent KJ black leather steering wheels today (found one wheel at one yard and then an even better wheel at the next and I just couldn't turn it down) oh, plus an 02 dash bezel with the dual cig lighters and some other random spare stuff. from what I read online the seats were an easy install. nope! I had to hack off a good portion of the front inner steel support to get the passenger seat to fit properly on the floor. and nothing I read mentioned the seat belts. the two Jeeps use a different thread on that bolt plus the old end doesn't fit well into the new seat. I didn't grab the seatbelts from the yard so I, um, made it fit. right about then I ran out of daylight so the rest will wait 'til tomorrow. and that's right, if you didn't know it already, the KK passenger seat folds forward plus they are comfy! the old seats had long ago lost any "squishyness" they may have had when new.

I've seen the center caps on ebay. even an NOS set, although they wanted real money for it.

weight plus leverage. the taller the tires, the higher the forces. I ran 33s on my 44/9 because I needed to drive it home too. giant tires are just headaches to me. I don't need any more of those. but anyway, the best part of the superduty axles is that they are showing up in the pull your part yards. $150 for a dana 50/60 axle? yes please! the key is being fast. if you have a Pull-a-Part or LKQ yard near you, they will send emails when a new whatever hits the yards.

have you applied power to the horn to confirm that it works? I had the same issue on my 88 way back when, and it turned out the issue was due to the horn being... missing.

yeah, except that... have you seen the rest of this insanely complicated setup in a CRD? pretty sure mine runs on a combination of voodoo and sheer will power.

it can help turn on a tight trail (I did it once by unlocking a hub), but as soon as the tires jam up, the posi-lok jams too and so you kinda have to know ahead of time when you want to do it. Honestly I would grab another (non CAD) front axle. but it depends entirely on what you want to do with the truck.

our hobby is fixing up old Jeeps. Old Jeeps have a hobby too, and that is thwarting us at every turn. My Jeeps are particularly good at it.
