yeah, skidplates aren't just for for lifted trucks! I'm trying to convince my parents to get the grand cherokee skids for their '16 Durango R/T. It's so friggin' low that just about any road debris can wreck havoc with the underpinnings. what's the word on the electrolisys experiment?

they pop up on the used market now and again. or you could probably cut your own out of another set of flaps. I'm sure someone with originals would be happy to make a template from theirs to mail to you. Heck, I'll do that. I only have the drivers side, but it turns into a pass side if you flip it over.

I know, right? you can easily buy a nicer, more original MJ for that. probably 3 of them. or you can make a bigger, badder, v8 swapped, one-ton offroad monster for that much cash. maybe even 3 of them.

the ABS in our old neon tried to kill me on multiple occasions. one tire (back left) liked to lock up in the bit o' gravel that collected in turnarounds and so when coming to a stop the whole thing would kick on and roll me into the cross street. there are definitely various levels of "smartness" when it comes to abs and that one was pretty dumb.

snow tires will change your life. IMO they are better than any ABS or even 4wd. most ABS systems suuuuuck (especially the older ones). One of my wheel sensor wires in the Liberty went out and disabled my ABS and traction control (plus my cruise ) and I have been infinitely happier for it.

keep in mind that if your wallet is thin, 31s would be a LOT easier on both it and your poor clutch. Just get some used ones and sell them once you're ready to drop some coin on the next phase.

yup. managed to make the trip back in '06. 3k miles of just me and my dog and my truck. totally worth it
