  1. you'll love it in a week or so we're going to really test it's hauling capabilities. one way or another I need to move the rest of my Jeep parts from MI to GA so we'll see what it can do.
  2. howling? stock 2.5L/autos came with 4.56 gears and, what, 26" tires? that's 3800rpms at 65mph. I think you'll be juuuust fine at a thousand rpms less than stock.
  3. I can't wait til I finally have an MJ to putter around to all the shows
  4. and just the outer skin too. at least he has "or best offer". maybe he'll accept a reasonable amount? (probably not )
  5. hard pass. I don't get involved with "title issues". plus it's easier to resist now that I have the pile of spares
  6. it's a real battle. the rubber is wearing away at the plastic and the plastic is slicing off slivers of rubber. it's at all four corners too. I'm thinking of getting the fronts re-balanced before I head south again as the steering wheel has developed quite a shimmy at freeway speeds. I guess it's all part of the sacrifices that must be made to run bigger tires on a Jeep with tiny wheelwells. I'm just happy that I was able to get usable rubber with these rims so I can gain experience for later on when I shell out real money for tires.
  7. it'll be a 1.5" OME lift, but since it's drop almost 2" since new, it'll feel like a 3" lift heck, at this point if I could wave a magic wand and get it back to stock I'd do it. I'm growing tired of listening to the tires and flares doing battle when I turn into a steep driveway.
  8. need just a weeee bit more bumpstop
  9. I can't wait til I can tear into it and rebuild the suspension. she needs a lift!
  10. I've not yet heard that there's a difference
  11. fuel economy issn't why you do a swap like this. It'd take a loooooooong time to recoup the money you spent doing it. that glorious diesel sound it makes on the other hand, that is downright addictive Puts a smile on my face every time I fire up the liberty. (unless it's super cold out and I forgot to plug in the heater. Then my face is a mix of fear and terror as I turn the key)
  12. I would go with the 97+ XJ doors seals. they are a bit thicker and seal much better. I would never leave cotton rope where you put it
  13. I never signed up either so we're in the same boat.
  14. what are the compression numbers for the current MJ engine? leakdown numbers? oil pressure?
  15. if you pull the tube, what remains is just a simple heat shield on the exhaust pipe. won't hurt anything. the diverter in the airbox intake on the other hand should probably be removed.

I generally save them to my desktop and then load them to CC. it's the best way to make sure the pics all stick around.
  18. with those light but sans winch it looks like a super happy bumper
  19. now THAT'S original. I love it! does the little gap under the winch platform have a purpose or is it decorative?
  20. I'm going to split this off and move to tech so more eyes will see it
  21. very nice! what did you do for prep?
  22. just checked and it worked for me. is your browser allowing for downloads?
  23. I have a feeling that the most of the things we would call plot holes are purposely there to set up future movies. They are based on the comix afterall. weird things are on the horizon.
