looks like the vent for the axle.

WD40 should not be used as a rust inhibitor. it dissolves way too many things and then more or less evaporates with enough time. search youtube for engine storage. I'm sure there are some vids on it. the most important thing is to keep moisture from getting into the engine through the exhaust or the intake. if you leave the manifolds on the engine, it makes that job a lot easier.

that sounds like a big modification to me. I guess the original paint is likely still included.

wouldn't be the first time I've pulled good parts and set them aside. do it and worry about plans later. be sure to cover them from weather exposure.

anything with a factory snorkel is cool in my book I'm assuming that extra 4 in 4x4x4 means it seats 4?

yup, talked the doc yesterday. MRI shows nothing requiring surgery and I'm approved to start rehab exercises. so tomorrow I'm heading back south with a to-do list. Still hurts like hell if I move the wrong way, and I can't kneel down, but it has been continuously improving so I'm looking forward to maybe being able to rotate a set of tires in a few weeks.

ok, so after some digging it appears you're approaching the maximum of hosted materials. our software doesn't shrink videos so they are huge compared to the tiny pics. I can free up some space by deleting the bigger ones.
