Also, there's nothing that says those sequences were shot in the order you saw them in the film. If you burn your driving rig, you can't exactly re-shoot an earlier scene. I have a feeling that this type of "swap" happens far more than we know. We just happened to pick up on this one. :D

I saw a couple zooks at the badlands a couple years ago. Mild lift with maybe 31s and very little sheetmetal left. I wish I could find the pics of the craziness they were attempting (and they were usually succeeding).

AFAIK it was standard in 89. Only 86 has the baby tank available.

Could be a leaky injector dumping too much fuel into the engine.

If you're keeping the same engine and trans, you'll just need to pick up your truck's year pilot bearing. Since you're dropping the tranny anyway, it's a good idea to replace the pilot bearing. You may need a pilot bearing removal tool (the auto parts stores around me loan them out).

I think he's trying to mate a H.O 4.0L with the older Peugeot transmission. Yes? Guys, did anyone ever figure that one out? :hmm:

Just to mix it up a bit to show how much the variables matter, I absolutely HATED the 31" BFG AT KAs that were under my Dakota. The rubber seemed to be way too hard and provided little traction in slippery conditions on pavement. :mad: Loved the older generation BFGs that used to be under my MJ though.

That would limit flex and drop the rear all of 1/2". Using 2wd MJ leaf packs would net 1" less lift (depending on the condition of the leaf packs in question). Or you could make a bastard pack from the 4wd leafs and Explorer leafs to lessen the overall lift.

Tack-weld the perches on with your welder and seek out a friend or business to burn them on with a more powerful unit. It's about as easy a weld as anything and really, really hard to screw it up. :D And this is just my opinion, but an extra inch or two of ground clearance probably won't keep you from high-centering. At least that's been my experience. :(

That pics reminds me of all the times I've left my minivan parked in front of my utility trailer. The rule is 3 days for leaving a trailer on public property (aka: the street), but indefinite if it's "hooked" to something. :D Maybe the next van will actually have a hitch on it. :roll:

The bolt-on soa idea is one of the most clever concepts I've seen that doesn't have any real-world value. Burning on new perches is easy and new perches cost $15. I've even seen guys that assembled their rear suspension and then drove slowly down the street to get the perches welded to the tube.

No torsions on an MJ, you've got coils up front, leafs in back.

The holes are already there, they just have a plate covering them.

But that auto isn't the end of the world and I still think it comes down to personal preference. If you don't really, really want a manual tranny, you're probably better off with keeping the auto.
